Looks like Larryville will have a few days of K8-E-pleasing weather this week; even I am looking forward to a few warm days. (But will probably appreciate it cooling off a bit by the weekend, too.)
One of the large L.A. bids has come down to us and another contractor; thanks for all of the good wishes! Waiting to hear from the HOA president (who seems like a nice guy) re a meeting and keeping our fingers crossed.

Your thoughts re the Leland Yee business have given me pause. I am reminded of what has been my favorite quotation for many years:
“The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.” -- G.B. Shaw
Had some fun poking at deranged GA GOP Senate hopeful Paul Broun, MD (that “MD” seems to be part of his legal name) on Twitter last night. Broun says the right stuff on most issues; too bad he’s actually a dangerous lunatic.
We’re heading for a few nice days here too, Fatwa, but we’re also looking at some nights in the 40s coming up. The old-timers didn’t NOTHING about winter being this long -- and it’s screwing with my planting schedule.

Me too -- and they make total sense. Bastards.
I had some ambitions about what I wanted to get done today, but I may have overdone it just a *leetle* yesterday. Holding back six strands of barbed wire with a t-post while Mr. X was digging holes with the auger on the tractor made my back a little more achy than I’d hoped.
Thankfully, I’ve only got one week ’til my next visit to the pain management doc -- but man, it feels like the last five have gone by SO slowly.
/enough whinging
I hope Mrs. Sven is on the mend.
Off to get *at least* the kitchen cleaned up…
While I don’t really understand the science, I think this is quite interesting:
Scienitists have managed to create an entanglement of 103 dimensions with only two photons. The record had been established at 11 dimensions. The discovery could represent a great advance toward the construction of quantum computers with much higher processing speeds than current ones, and toward a better encryption of information.
While much of the advanced science seems to have little application in our lives in our lifetimes entanglement is interesting as it may have the potential for communications outside relativistic constraints. Look at how the telegraph and early wireless changed the world and yet it was just basically a binary signal, but it brought what had been a communications delay of weeks or months to virtually instant communications. It might be interesting to see the implications at both the very small and very large ends of the scale.
So tomorrow is the last day to enroll in Obamacare. Or not. What a clusterf**k of a program.
For you cat guys out there, do you feed your animals wet food? If so, any brand that you heartily recommend? Both of our cats had been happy with Friskies pate up until the end of last year and now I’m playing find the cat food that they will eat game. It’s expensive and not fun and I’m really really really tired of those disappointed looks I get from them at every feeding time.
Sven -- we feed our cat Fancy Feast. It can take some time to find out which flavors are acceptable and which aren’t. Trader Joe’s only works as an occasional break in routine.
G’morning, GN!

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
I hop y’all have a Jerrie-ific day, ‘cuz you just know he will!
Good Morning EveryGerbillyBody!

Hope yer back feels better, TeX!
Stuff not to do with a tractor:
Found out just how much that PTO arm will bounce on Friday when I lifted the auger too fast.
Boing! Boing! Boing!
Spooked the hell out of me.
Eeep!
Cats hugging--what could be cuter?
Happy Sunday, folks!
So you might be heading west again, Fatwa? Cool.
Mrs Sven is healing up, at least heading down the right road. Hope you are feeling better in a bit, X.
Teh YAY for Mrs. Sven improving!
Yup…could be Northridge-bound in the next several weeks on teh Feelthy Lucre Express. 😉

I know a few folks whose cats enjoy Trader Joe’s cat food. Alternatively, you could try feeding the cats…to the coyotes.
Personally, I think option A is a much better bet, but I’m not a “cat guy”. 😉
Hope you can find something that they’ll eat without too much fuss.

Fancy Feast and Trader Joe’s. Thanks guys.
