G’day from cooler -- and thus even more Happy -- Larryville, GN!
Hai, Sven!
Talked to a cousin of mine yesterday who, for the last couple of years, has been living part-time in Israel. Among other things, she mentioned that while the citizenry there is quite, ah, vexed with the current Administration, they still have a lot of faith in the American people. (Although there is a special ire reserved for American Joooos who voted for King Putt…especially in 2012. Which is certainly understandable.)
She said the Israelis are also very aware that they’re losing the PR battle but have no clue what they can do about that. There’s growing frustration that their consistently trying to take the moral high ground cannot offset the biases of so much of the media.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven the First and Fatwa!
I hope the ‘Coon is looking through the business section because he’s about to launch some new money-making endeavor. Heaven knows we could use the jobs!
Fatwa -- I caught some news last night about Israel’s reaction to John F’n Kerry’s recent endeavors in the region. This quote from the Times of Israel says it all (h/t Patterico):
Whether through ineptitude, malice, or both, Kerry’s intervention was not a case of America’s top diplomat coming to our region to help ensure, through astute negotiation, the protection of a key ally. This was a betrayal.
So, I’ve been to see the Vet. The veterans’ hospital, silly.
Last time I went, two years ago, my cholesterol was way above average, blood sugar was way above average and my blood pressure could power an aircraft carrier! Yea, I’m above average. This time? Everything was centerline average.
Well, except I have developed a rather noisy and leaky heart valve. I’m waiting on the results from my echocardiogram. The very nice lady spent 30 minutes imaging my heart. Nice but humorless. When I asked her if she could see if my heart was a boy (with a penis) or a girl I got nothing. NOTHING.
Yesterday, I went in for a dermatology exam and got way more than I bargained for. They actually had to prioritize the number of skin cancers and pre-cancers to remove. On my face they froze about 5 square inches of non-contiguous pre-cancers; about the same on my back. Then they biopsied four high priority lesions, one on my shoulder, one on my thigh, one on my upper arm and one on my calf. They have pre-reserved a surgeon and a plastic surgeon on the not unexpected outcome. I should know by Thursday. I guess white privilege has its drawbacks.
Oh, oh. I finally fixed the avatar problem. No, I didn’t kill James Cameron. Although I should. I fixed the permissions on the website and voila, there they be. I’m running Teh Squeak on a Windows server. All, or most all, instructions for permissions are for Linux. NOT THE SAME.
While I’m happy to hear about the BP and sugar being better I am very sorry to see the problems. I hope you will keep us updated when you can. You know you will be in our thoughts, here.
Thanks for your concerns. I’m kinda used to the skin cancer problems but the heart is a new one for me. I hope it doesn’t come down to having to exercise. That will be a difficult choice.
Hey, Jerrie!
Sorry to hear about the murmuring heart and misbehaving skin cells. I need to get in this summer and get things examined/removed, as well. When they were taking a biopsy from your thigh, did you inquire if they offered happy endings?
First!
Coons--not happy with them this Tuesday morning.
Beyond that, I got nuthin’.
Wishing you all a beautiful day.
Coons, so cute when they are little. Later? Not so much.

Criminy.

Heya, Paddy --
Thanks for that link.
Even Haaretz -- which is pretty much Israel’s version of the NYT -- has been rather stunningly critical (especially for them) of this Administration.
More of a rat fink.
I’m voting for “both”.
GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE!
Greetings from 75°/35% humidity, cool breezes, warm sun Bountiful.
I sure do hope y’all are having a great day, ’cause you just know I am.

Hiya Macster!

How are you and Elena? Everything good?
We are doing well, thank you.
And thank you so much for maintaining Teh Wheel for us to play in.
Thanks Mac. And thank you for all your work as thread boy.
I’m glad to hear that you and Elena are doing well. Of course, both of you are still young tykes.
