The first day of teh Gay Games -- being held in Cleveland -- got largely rained-out yesterday. I hope they’ll do some redecorating while they’re visiting…including getting rid of the über-tacky new $16M chandelier in Playhouse Square. (This is for realz.) But ooooh…it’s got LEDs so it’s all green and energy efficient and shite.
Notice, too, all of the tall buildings, traffic and bustling sidewalks.
Allegedly, no public funds save for casino taxes were used for this fugly POS. But knowing the endemic corruption in Cuyahoga Cty., I would be rather surprised if that were actually true.
Just returned from swelter-o-rama. PapaK and I got more than half the attic cleared out; definitely the bulk of heavy / awkward carp. Tentatively planning to go back on Thursday when we’ll have BK’s help and ought to be able to empty the rest of it in a couple of hours or less.
At present, all of the removed items are cluttering the formerly-immaculate garage floor where they will be sorted and processed. 😉
I see that President Obama has issued a statement about the police shooting in Missouri. It’s almost like there’s a pattern there, what local events or tragedies that so move the President to issue a statement. I can almost grasp it…
