My lower back was twinging during the ride out to teh Compound yesterday but seemed fine by the time I arrived. However, the process of dealing with awkward and relatively heavy stuff took its toll; last night was bit unpleasant despite taking some “preemptive” meds after I got home. (Woke-up every time I turned over in my sleep and ouched myself.)
Getting out of bed this morning was, shall we say, a bit challenging. Took heavier doses of both something for the spasms and the owie-ness with coffee this morning and hope for salutary results. (The first time this happened more than thirty-three years ago, it was so severe by the time I saw a doc, he prescribed both valium, codeine and told me to keep a bucket handy…which was excellent advice.)
Hope I won’t be quite so retched [sic] today…but I’ve got a pretty good buzz going right now. (Too bad I’ve never been much of a “downer dude”.)
OTOH, there’s nothing critical I need to do outside the house today. And since Jim the Roofer finally got a website up last week, I’ve got plenty of content to create; just hope it doesn’t wind-up reading like it was written by Hunter S. Thompson. 😉
And I’ll probably lose some weight the next couple of days, so there’s another upside; mmmmmmm…lemonade.
Thanks, Paddy; I’m very thankful to have efficacious meds which, while I don’t much enjoy the side effects, make an enormous difference and am already experiencing a lot less discomfort…even as my brain turns to a non-Ebola slurry.
Really hope they’ve finally gotten you the correct-size skylight so you can drop it onto the curb, batten it down and be done with the project.
Watching the cable news shows re: ebola. I just love how they are responsibly trying to put the risk of death from ebola in context. More likely to be hit by lightning in America than to get the disease; more likely to drown in a bathtub, get killed by a clown, have sex with Paris Hilton, etc.

Sure, good advice, but this is a tact that the media and politicians never take when it comes to guns.
