Thanks for the anniversary greetings.
Bw & I didn’t do anything-it was a workday.She had offered earlier to fly us to Vegas. I said no, I;m not flying anymore & we have already been to Vegas. Plus with her family situation we never get to plan anything anymore. Too many canceled plans in the past. It’s almost like they know & come up with a disaster that we have to fix. About all we can do is sneak away for the day to the Winstar. And we never tell them we are going.
Later this morning, I’m driving th the crackhouse to return TM’s safe. BW had to reset the code. Worthless Grandson may have figured it out when he stole her credit card last weekend. Yes, he is back living there after a summer free of him. He wrecked his last car & is up on his second DUI charge. This should be a mandatory jail sentence, but the courts are slow. Why, yes of course TM bailed him out & is paying for his blow=machine. ON a car he doesn’t have! It was either that or an ankle bracelet & WG is too good to wear one, I guess. The stupid part is that he is a pill head & doesn’t drink. So this is just another way to get money out of him. For some future time to reinstate his driver’s license. As if he cared. He has driven on a suspended one the whole time I’ve known him.
So the 40 year old pot/pill head is back mooching off an 81 year old. She gave him the card to rent the “Smart Start” ignition device, but then he stole the card a couple of days later to take his dealer on a shopping trip in exchange for drugs. (And fill 3 cars with gas)
Anyway, after I found all this on her credit card bill, GM agreed that it is time for me to come pick up her card & keep it over here for awhile. Of course. today is her birthday he is such a “gift” in her old age.
I was over there Tuesday after doing her grocery shopping at the base. Usually, I put the change in her safe so that she will have some cash in the house. That was when she told me that she thought he had been in her safe. So I finally found her creditcard & we hid it & the cash. He had already stolen it & used it on Saturday, but it wasn’t on the bill yet. Or I would have taken the card then.
So when nothing changes, nothing changes. BW & I just come in & clean up the mess as best we can. He hasn’t been back at the house but a week & her card is up over $300.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, GN…and that it’ll be warmer in Happy Larryville for the next several days.

Sorry to read that WG is still making life teh suck for you two and TM. I also had to take a moment to parse the meaning of “blow=machine”. First approximation was in re cocaine, second one was vulgar (and WTF?!?) and then my coffee-starved brain finally settled on “ignition interlock”. 😉

When I first read “Later this morning, I’m driving th the crackhouse to return TM’s safe” I read it as “I’m driving in the crackhouse”. The visual made me smile.
This may not be of interest to anybody but my favorite science fiction series on TV, one of the very few that was real science fiction as opposed to fantasy, was Men Into Space in 1959-60. It was real science fiction with problems and solutions that involved real engineering and science. After years of trying to find it I was able to buy the series on DVD a few years ago. During a discussion on Facebook today I found that some or all of the episodes are on U-tube. If you like hard science fiction you might find these interesting. The budget seems to have been low but I think they had good technical help from NASA so the science was surprisingly good for that time.
This is Episode one but others are there. Episode three and four are two of the best I remember.
(In a very early conversation with SugarPlumK, she allowed as how she believes that school zone speed limits ought to be unlimited, ’cause those wee urchins are supposed to be in school!!1! I think Cupid’s first salvo hit me right about that instant…)

Thanks for the heads-up about “Men Into Space”. I’ve never even heard of that, which is surprising given what an insanely space-happy kid I was by age four. Perhaps it wasn’t aired in Chicago…or was on after my bedtime, so the folks were careful to never, ever mention it when I was in earshot. 😉
It was on the Spanish channel. I can’t stand to listen to Mr Boo Kitty but they talked and gushed about his promises and of course interviewed many people who hailed him as a messiah and blessed him to heaven. Elena said these people have no idea about his lack of authority and the consequences that will result. This will be very bad.
Our founders tried to give us the tools to deal with an over reaching executive but they did not really anticipate a President who was determined to harm the country and it’s people just out of spite and hatred for what our Country stands for. The next two years are going to be very bad.
