Smells like Friday here in dank, drear Happy Larryville, GN!
Wonder what’s gonna happen in Saudi Arabia given that King Abdullah’s “metabolic processes are now ‘istory”? (I’m confuzzled that many in the media are referring to him as a “reformer”…which I suppose he was, if one defines that as dragging a sandy carphole kicking and ululating from the 7th Century to the 8th Century.)
The monarch, believed to be 90, was succeeded by his brother, Crown Prince Salman, according to state television. That put the region’s most important Sunni power and America’s closest Arab ally in the hands of a 79-year-old who is reportedly in poor health and suffering from dementia.
We are doing well, thank you. Elena is finished with physical therapy, just doing her exercises at home. She had a gel shot in her knee this week, the next step past cortisone shots. She is sore from that but getting better. We hope it works. On her other knee the cortisone shots seemed to help for a year and a half to two years but not this knee. If this works we will look at getting one in the other knee. We need to buy a few years before we can look at knee replacements.
Sure hope Elena gets some efficacy from the gel shot.
PITA but lucrative, we hope!
Cheers, sir. If we get it, it’ll be relatively lucrative for the square footage because we’ll also be dealing with some major flaws in the original construction re lack of various flashings. There are dozens of blatant flaws which I’m hard-pressed to imagine could have passed multiple inspections for the roof design, HVAC ducting and other issues without numerous envelopes of cash changing hands.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all…and this is a fairly high-end HOA, too.

So there was ample money available. This is why we need to give more of our money to our betters in government. You know, the ones who sold out in the first place.
Don’t get me started on Beverly Hills’ Building and Safety goons. Or their “Catch-22” system for simply trying to schedule inspections. (We don’t get asked to bid much work there, but in the future, we’ll bid it at about 25% more than the “normal” price due to the bureaucratic mess…it’s that bad.)
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Happy PITA report-writing, Fatwa!
Hope the headache vanishes quickly, Sven!
Glad Elena is doing well and hope the gel shot (ouch!) is efficacious, Mac!
Mrs. O’Furnijure and I are going to do some more tuck-pointing on some decorative columns we installed as part of the front patio. They’re kind of like this, but without the pillars going up to the roof (there is no roof over the patio).

This could make things more interesting:
Fabulous…”Game of Dunes”, anybody?
Good morning and happy Friday!
I has headache. Yuck.
Sorry to hear about your headache, Sven. Hope it does not hang around.
Hai, Sven and Mac!
Sven --
May your headache go away quickly.
Mac --
I hope that you and Elena are both doing well.
Back to writing a PITA roof report; feh.
Oh…this just in:

These columns are in progress:
These are still to be done:
Paddy, very sharp. My compliments to you and the Mrs.
Thanks, Jerry!
