Storm Aftermath O grabbin’!

Last evening we had some huge wind gusts before the rain. “Huge” as in one was 66 mph in downtown FTW. Our trees were all twisty- twisty for a few minutes. Last night, after dark, the rain & thunder blew in. BW went to bed & called out to me that a branch had blown down. I looked at the tree nearest the bedroom window & didn’t see anything amiss. So I looked further into the back yard & saw that the whole apricot tree had broken off at the base & was down. It was not really that much of a surprise. Insects were eating it up from the inside & had been for a while. Luckily it missed falling on the adjacent storage shed.
Also yesterday afternoon we spent about 2 1/2 hours in a park for the Grandniece’s birthday party. The Good Neice has a best friend with a daughter & their kids’ birthdays are close so they have a party together every year. Three & four year olds with piñatas bigger than they were! Add in a couple of step-siblings and a bubble machine & the noise was huge. Sis & Zombie Sis were reasonably ok. We just really weren’t in a party mood. I came home exhausted & slept for about 2 hours!

TeX, I think that they are going to take away all our ability to “drive” a car in the future. It will be about as much choice as we get in “driving” an elevator. Or the EMP will get us & no one will be driving! Ha!

See ya layer.

Sunday salutations, GN!

Hai, RabBeet! Glad your shed avoided damage.

And Happy Birfday 1 and 2 of seven to TeX!!!

Unfortunately, there was a little, erm, accident involving your cake.

…(and seriously, you need a fvcking sensor to tell you it’s raining?!).

Folks who have that little common sense need those sensors in their boots, IYKWIMAITTYD.

Here’s my theory/hypothesis: someone’s gonna test it.

Agreed.

Some other lawbah’s gonna find a loophole big enough for a semi.

And a drooling, gibbering sympathetic jury. Plus a former trial lawyer judge who will rule the “black box” data inadmissible.

Granted, I’m a cynic…

I think you misspelled “realist”. 😉

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBit! I’m glad you survived the Big Blow of 2015 as well as the birthday party.

Good morning, Fatwa! Yep, I agree.

Happy birthdays, TeX!
Fatwa was not lying when he said his cake got in an accident -- here’s the other car:

The wedding and reception for my nephew were fine, but interesting. The ceremony was held outside, but under the shade of a canopy of trees and there was a slight breeze, so it was comfortable. The bride comes from an evangelical Christian family. I’m not sure if my nephew has ever attended church -- my brother tends to be more ‘spiritual’ than ‘practicing’ in his beliefs. There were very few people at the wedding that Mrs. Paddy and I knew -- about ten, including the bride and groom, and they were mostly my brother’s second family and friends. The only exceptions being his ex and their granddaughter. Two of the groomsmen were from my nephew’s pro-wrestling world (he’s a physician’s assistant and part-time pro wrestler).
