BW did have a bit of a weird day at work. She said that she mostly got through it with a flat affect. When her cashiers came individually to express their condolences, it was genuine & heartfelt, but she held her emotions back. When the upper managers came to present her with the “bereavement box” she said like they were giving her an award. She always gives the box privately to her workers, one on one. The bereavement box is a very nice hinged box about 6 inches tall. Inside is a book similar to a funeral guest book with space underneath for cards & trinkets. A Memory box , I guess.
She didn’t make it through her now 800 emails. She told a coworker that she has decided to retire a year early- next March. The co-worker said that they had speculated whether she would come back at all. But at least she got through the day I hate that I can’t do anything to help.
Enough gloom!

The demonization of Pam Geller by the media, including several scumbags on Fox News, is quite chilling. What’s next…playing the Jooo card against her, too?
Additionally, this incident demonstrates another massive failure of the government agencies tasked with keeping us safe from terrorists. They’re demonstrably far more interested in turning America into a surveillance / police state.
While I understand the feeling, this makes me a bit sad. As an outsider I look on with wonder and have a bit of an Atlas image in mind. You are doing so very much. Don’t shrug, my friend.

Afternoon greetings from the unpredictable weather’d Central SE Texas prairie.
Man, my phone and iPad were going NUTS starting about 3:30 this morning. I did discover that having the sound of the Jetson’s car as my “default notification” is really annoying when the National Weather Service is publishing warnings and watches every ten minutes, so I’ve got that going for me.
Yeesh.
After all the hubbub, the storm went north of us anyway.
Other than that, I ain’t got much. It’s the time of year that we’ve started fishing the pond again, something that makes the girls very happy in the afternoons.
Speaking of… it’s time to walk teh pups…
