Just got back from Waddlemart, where I noticed yet another round of significant price increases or package size reductions on household staples.
I’m tempted to explore the cost of obtaining an Esso franchise. 😉
There also appears to have been a noticeable size increase re riders of teh Korpulence Karts™.

Not the Hellcold flu! I hope you and The Older don’t share it with the rest of the family. (Somebody needs to stay well enough to run to Walgreens). I hope you don’t get the miserable tickle-cough.
And I hope that after a few days you don’t say “to heck with Kleenex” and just end up spitting in the trash can.*
BW & I went over to Teh Crackhouse Sunday & met with the lawyer/friend.
As to info: very helpful.
As to ethics: Very slimy.
At one point, he made a statement and I just looked at BW across the table & said “That’s not honest.” He was more concerned with legalities than honesty. (Like saying we didn’t have to pay TM”s debts if we didn’t list them in a probate) Disgusting, actually. He showed us some (legal) shortcuts that will enable us to sell the house without going through a probate-if the buyer agrees & the title co. agrees. We did not know that we could (can) go ahead & put the house on the market without the death certificate or probate . All we have to do is get the will & an affidavit from an uninterested party that knows the family history (TM’s best friend will do) & file it with the county clerk. That is called an Affidavit of Heirship. So with that we get some kind of “Imminent Power” to sell. I’m hoping that will do it, if the title co agrees. There is one other thing after that to please the title company before we would have to do a full probate. So we are hoping to win on step one & not have to go to steps 2 or 3. Anyway, it was a big relief for BW.
I went in TM’s bedroom to gather every paper & document that I could find. Most of what I was looking for was there. Although the looters have already been through the house, paper was of no interest to them. BW picked up a couple of sentimental items, but she wasn’t up to going through pictures & things like that.
It was a long day. Before going over there, we had lunch with my son & got haircuts.
Yesterday we finally got the cap back on the root canal from Hell tooth. Dr. DeeKay showed us a tornado film that she found on You Tube & put on her phone. Sometime last week she had gone to visit her daughter in San Marcos. On her way back through Hillsboro, she was being followed by bad weather & finally decided to stop at a Loves Truckstop to get out of the car, She said there were about 75 people in the store & they were told to get in the freezer. But it was cold & people kept coming out & had to be herded back in. The storm blew over the store & she said it was not a freight train sound, but more like the clacking of the train wheels on the track. Anyway, someone about 8 miles away from where she was took a video & put it up and she grabbed it for her phone, but there was no sound.
As I write this, I’m in that gray twilight zone again. Should be like this the rest of the week. Yesterday we did have a few hours of sun & it got up to 90. Almost all the lakes are full. Five years of drought wiped out in a month & a half of rain. Ha!

“The Hellflucold Time” sounds like the title of a godawful, pretentious and painfully soporific novel which would be lauded by the NYT Review of Books for being “a visceral, all-too-plausible tale of something something”.
