Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy trippy Caturday, GN!

We’re off to teh ClanK Ancestral Compound later this morning for a slightly-belated celebration of PapaK’s birfday.

And in NYC, Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty got into an altercation:

Costumed hustlers dressed as Hello Kitty and Minnie Mouse bared their claws while fighting over a tip Thursday — and ended up in cuffs.

The fur flew after the two posed together with some passers-by, and the Hello Kitty “performer” — Jiovanna Melendez, 40 — allegedly wouldn’t share the resulting tip with Minnie Mouse Sandra Mocha, 34.

Even a faux Spider-Man swung into action, but the ersatz webslinger couldn’t break them apart as they slapped, scratched and punched each other.

Huh…maybe there is a downside to cartoon violence.

Morning Greetings.
I saw that headline about the Hello Kitty catfight & thought of you two.
We are babysitting Annie until next Friday. Good Nephew & family are going to Corpus this morning. Yesterday was Great Nephew’s 10th birthday. I bought him a clock radio & a t-shirt with a big spider on it that glows in the dark. (He has a pet tarantula.). I didn’t know it was the Spiderman 2 logo until I was wrapping it, I just thought it was a cool-looking spider, BW slipped him $20 for his vacation /birthday & told him to “put this in your pocket”. Ha! He immediately crowed to the rest of us how much money he’s raked in. She looked stricken! We picked some juicy red & purple plums & he climbed the big fruitless Mulberry tree.
Just before they came over, our AC was not cooling the house. It was too late to call for help. Fortunately, Good Nephew has recently graduated from HVAC repair. His father-in-law had given him some kind of tool set for ac repair. He brought it over & checked our 1,000 year old unit. I don’t know what he did, but he fixed it. Although we have one that uses Freon & he doesn’t have the means to refill that. So he didn’t mess with it, but we have plenty left over from the last repair, I guess. The air cold, that’s all that matters.
Taliban Annie is now very overweight and looks more like a regular pug than a toy. She stomped me awake every couple of hours last night. It is odd getting used to taking a dog “out” again. Grace adjusted quicker to Annie being here than last time. Annie is too fat to make an effective charge at her & doesn’t really want to. I fed them within 4 feet of each other this morning with no problems.
The bug man has come & gone this morning. I have already had to shut the windows & turn on the air. Supposed to be 94 again today. Twilight Time is over!

See ya later

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT and Fatwa!
It sounds like RaBbiT and BW have already had a full weekend, and I haven’t even had breakfast, yet.

Hi, Sven!

Lot’s of cleaning and sprucing up going on @ Casa du O’Furnijur. We’ve got an aluminum patio cover similar to this:

that was present when we moved in. We would’ve scrapped it a long time ago, except anything less than a solid cover would not provide enough shade (southern exposure). Over the years we’ve painted it twice and boxed in the support posts with lattice, getting rid of the ugly-arse trailer park curly-cues. Well, it’s time to paint again, so I’ve been up on a step stool with a wire brush, getting rid of loose paint. Mrs. Paddy followed with a solution of TSP to kill the mildew and prep the surface. Little did I know that would loosen the old paint even more, so I got to go back and re-brush everything. Next, I cleaned out the integrated gutter, which is not like your normal rain gutter. Oh, no! This is a special gutter that is not only narrow, but half the width is covered by the aluminum patio cover, meaning I can only get one finger in it to scrape out the dirt and leaves. Between a shop vac, air compressor, and my hands, I managed to get it all cleaned out. Now I’m covered in white paint flecks and black dust and dirt. Good times!

After we repaint the patio cover, I’m going to box in the support posts with solid wood, to give it a cleaner look.
