Mornin’ greetin’s all!
Monday, despite our intentions of staying away, we went to TMP for a few hours. BW “stirred up the pool water”and I did some weed pullin’ & tree trimmin’. Then to avoid the evening traffic, we ate at Long John Silver’s. Not a place I usually go, but it was surprisingly good.
Yesterday was one that had me down physically & emotionally. We didn’t leave the house & I napped all day. Turning my mind off, well that is another thing. Ha!
This morning, I’ll be taking ZS to her PCP appt. Whatshould take an hour will take longer. I’m sure that he is going to take her off the expensive Eliquis ($400 a month) and put her on Coumidin, so that will be another trip to the pharmacy.
At the same time as her appt., BW will be at TMP in a four hour window meeting the pool guy. I’m hoping he can fix it, but I am doubtful. Nothing has been easy about this so far.
Paddy mentioned that he hoped we were getting good advice from a realtor. Well, we aren’t.
What happened was that Bob the realtor brought over a contractor for the repairs & the guy never called us back. It was obvious from his body language that he didn’t want the job. Like the first painters we had bid on it. So BW went through a period of we will just get things fixed ourselves, then call other realtors. Yesterday, she emailed Bob & told him we had done some improvements & would he like to come & look at it. He emailed back that he was giving us some space & then he had some health issues, but that he always wanted to list the house for us. Yeah, during this time also, ZS had her stroke & we were focused on that & moving her. So Bob will come today & we are going to ask him if we should re-carpet a couple of rooms or just give a carpet allowance. We have yet to find a handyman to fix some sockets & lights.
I am so ready for this to be over. Ha!
In the meantime, BW’s HR dept is in the process of outsourcing the claims dept. for disability & FMLA . So they have sent her to a third party, who now says her case is “pending” & they are going to withhold pay. Like she needed any more stress. Next we hear that soon they are switching from Aetna to Blue Cross. She finally emailed asking for a patient advocate. They gave her the name of the company that does all the hiring of contract temps. So, they have already outsourced her dept, just haven’t said so officially. And the head of HR abruptly resigned on the first. See, the new Airport CEO has been in place for a year, and now the axe is going to fall on a whole lotta people.
BW’s planned exit from the airport might be sooner than we thought…
Anyway, that is too much thinkin’ this early.
Gotta hop.
I’ll try to hop back in later with a better attitude.
((thanks for the prayers, TeX & Paddy & all y’all))
A perfect storm of conditions rusted out the base of the pole, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission officials say, and caused it to fall. At the time, the lamp post, which was already old, was damaged by urine and weighed down by an oversized banner.
“We believe there was some contribution of dog or human urine on the base of the pole,” PUC spokesman Tyrone Jue said. “It has actually been an issue for us in the past. We encourage people and dogs alike to do their business in other places, like a proper restroom or one of our fire hydrants, which are stronger and made out of cast iron.”
Unless the demographics of that part of S.F. -- Pine and Taylor -- have radically changed since I lived there (and I don’t think that’s the case), it was predominantly bum piss.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO grabbin’!

Gotta love San Francisco: Lamp post destroyed by urine falls in street, just misses driver:

I bet the oversized banner was a Confederate battle flag--that’s what did it.
You misspelled “gay pride flag”.
