It rained some overnight and it is cloudy and cooler this morning. Yay!
We are lazing around a bit before heading over to TMP to see what we can do. I don’t really want to pick any more lava rocks, or weed the cactus garden edge, but that is what needs to be done.

Have my head up my frischhole working on teh big roofing bid; this property has an amazing number of dodgy roof details, which all have to be accounted for in pricing. (Which, in-turn, must be explained in the report, ’cause it’s going to be a number which is going to cause major sticker shock. Including to us.)
I was in pure heaven yesterday evening. I headed straight to the cove after work to meet 2 of my favorite merbuddies. The sun was getting ready to set through little puffy clouds and its rays were shining down on a velvety, sparkling silver sea. I could have glided though that silky warm water forever but we settled on 1.5 miles of bliss before the sun set and we had to get out. We celebrated our glorious swim with one perfect dark chocolate turtle, effectively cancelling all the calories we had just burned.
I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend with 3 of my girlfriends. We got a poolside double king suite at La Casa Del Zorro down in Borrego Springs. Its amazing how cheap a deluxe room is in the middle of Summer. It will be a balmy 107 the weatherbubblehead says which is a cooldown from last week’s 117! I’m planning a “tour of dinosaurs” once the sun goes down. There is an artist down there that created a bunch of giant metal sculptures scattered throughout Borrego Springs and they are magnificent!

That was a beautiful description of yesterday’s swim, Cali. Although, when I re-read it, I snickered at “little puffy clouds”. That PBS artist guy, ya know.
After lazing around, we went to the Lowe’s near TMP. Of course, they were out of the light I wanted. I guess we bought it at our Lowe’s. I’m hoping they have one left. We decided to remove the ceiling fan & light over the eat-in kitchen area & replace it with just a light like the one the painters installed for us. We were going to just replace the missing fan blade. But after we bought new blades, we found that the missing blade also was missing the part that connected it to the fan! So, back to the returns counter.
Today stayed cloudy & we had a few sprinkles. I was able to get another big bin of lava rocks. And a bucket of plain white rocks. I hauled seven lawn & leaf bags and three kitchen trash bags of weeds and clippings home to put out with our trash. Although I haven’t finished with the lava rock garden, I did start edging the cactus garden out front. I changed out the toilet seat in Teh Master bath-proud of myself for that one!
Good Nephew, Grand Nephew and Best Friend came over. BF was a plumber & fixed the leaky master bath toilet! GN fixed a leaning fence panel. Then both of them worked on scraping up the adhesive from the outdoor carpet. Grand Nephew worked with BW on a few things, then he swam for awhile.
After playing phone tag with Eddie, the carpet guy, we went to his store before coming home. He said he threw his back out & will have the rest of the scraping & carpet removed on Saturday. And he will. BW was just freaked that the loose scraps were going to get into the pool and clog it up.
I called Sean this evening & he will come & finish the closet lights on Sunday. Yay! We are getting closer to the end.
I’m going to hop out now & see y’all in the morning. God willing.
