A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
It’s going to be another hot one. Yesterday was 100°F. Today is only supposed to be 94, but they said that about yesterday. We’ll see.

Them weather people lie, Paddy.

Good morning, GN!

Good morning, Sven! I hope you, Mrs. Sven, and the racoons are not melting out there.

G’day, Paddy and Sven!

Today is only supposed to be 94, but they said that about yesterday.

However, they’re totally infallible when making temperature predictions 50-100 years out because consensus and settled science!!1!

Speaking of which, I wonder if there’s any veracity to this: Perth electrical engineer’s discovery will change climate change debate.

A former climate modeller for the Government’s Australian Greenhouse Office, with six degrees in applied mathematics, Dr Evans has unpacked the architecture of the basic climate model which underpins all climate science.

He has found that, while the underlying physics of the model is correct, it had been applied incorrectly.

He has fixed two errors and the new corrected model finds the climate’s sensitivity to carbon dioxide (CO2) is much lower than was thought.

It turns out the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has over-estimated future global warming by as much as 10 times, he says.

That’s unpossible!

Ah, Fatwa: you big climate change denier.

The heat here has been miserable, but not unbearable. And the winds havent been that big of a problem, so no fires to speak of. Yet.

Looking at the news, I’m surprised that we arent being hammered hour by hour with pictures of that hospital in Afghanistan that we accidentally bombed. I wonder what the coverage would be if this happened while Bush was president?

He’d probably be lambasted as a stupid, evil, dry-drunk, warmongering Hitler-chimp. (Just spit-balling here…)

So this was the excitement near Teh Younger’s college this morning. The truck you see in the first five seconds is a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Criminy.

Will the waterspout be charged with a federal crime? (Since they charge inanimate objects with crimes…)

It seems that Aussie Climate Change Denier is a favorite target of the Chicken-Little crowd.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

I’m shocked, shocked that morons who believe in science by consensus would behave in such a manner.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Ooooh…a flaming horsie background. (NTTAWWT.)

Hai, Mac!

I take it that’s a team logo, then? (I don’t follow sports, either.)

That’s the logo for the Denver Broncos -- they attempt to play the American version of football. Any resemblance to My Little Pony is purely coincidental.

NB: I don’t have a dog in this fight. I quit caring about the NFL a long time ago. I’d rather watch college or high school games.

Thank you, gentlemen.

Evening Greetings, all!

Awhile back, I had to climb onto the roof to take down the old TV antenna. Using just the six foot step ladder, I got up as far as I could & then had to lean over & scramble up. It was scary coming back down, legs dangling & my feet “looking” for the top of the ladder. Did not like. Did I mention that I am afraid of heights?
We have a tree that has branches over on the roof now. I have been wondering how I am going to get them trimmed. So the only solution was to do something stupid and dangerous. I put the patio table on the ground and the ladder on top of it! I did have BW hold the legs to make sure the ladder didn’t scoot of the table. There was maybe an inch clearance to the edges. I climbed up on the roof with no problem & got all the branches away from the house with my little hedge clippers. Coming back down was not nearly as scary as using just the ladder. BW was not thrilled with the whole idea, but she knows sometimes you just can’t tell me anything. Ha!
Then I went around the tree on the ladder & cleared off a lot of branches. We raked leaves and ended up with eight lawn bags full of branches and leaves. Plus a big pile of branches too big to bend into the bags.
Yesterday, Good Nephew called to see if he could borrow my truck to go pick up a loveseat today. I said, ‘Sure, we will meet you at the loading dock.” When we moved ZS to her apt. He bought her a sofa with recliners at each end. This time her was buying a loveseat for himself, that also had recliners at each end, and one of those consoles with the padded lid and cup holders. It fit perfectly in my truck , without even using tie-downs.
When we got to his house, we had to take his old couch out. Yes, it also had two recliners on the end. His best friend was drunk & threw himself on the couch & broke it. Then his 10 year old threw himself on the middle section and broke it! Ha! I offered to haul it away & he said he was going to just put a free sign on it & someone would get it.
So he had a perfectly good loveseat that went with the couch. No one ever used it, they always sat on the couch facing the tv. BW offered to buy it & they said just take it! BW almost broke down. She said no one (of the two nephews and neice-or her sisters) has ever given her anything. It fit perfectly in my truck, too.
Oh, yeah, it is a spacesaver loveseat with two recliners in it! BW & I managed to get it in the house ourselves. (With the help of my red dolly that I am in love with!) So now we really do have “theatre seating” in our living room. With the loveseat and our individual recliners. This is good because BW’s leather recliner has a sprung spring that cannot be repaired. She was hesitant to get rid of it for years because it was a gift from TM. Now we can ease it off to the side with an eye towards getting rid of it. My leather one is still good. The new loveseat is that soft micro fiber cloth. We had kinda been talking about a loveseat, but as usual, could not agree on a style. But we both agreed on “free”! Ha!
The funny thing is that last month, my son asked if we could pick up a couch for him when he gets around to ordering it from Costco. I told BW that it is odd that the two young guys are having to ask for truck help from the two old ladies.

So that was my day. I’m sure that I will be walking like Fred Sanford tomorrow, but it felt good to get all of that done.
See ya later!

Hai! RabBiT!
Instead of scaring us all to death with your high-wire, Flying Walendas act, maybe you should just get one of these:

I looked at some pictures of TMP on Zillow -- y’all have done a great job of fixing the place up! I can now understand all the gardening and rock collecting you were talking about!
