I never go for fast food, let alone Burger King. But San Francisco’s mayor Gavin Newsom said that “you can literally buy ammunition at Burger King”
So I went, because I’m running low on 44 special after my son borrowed it to shoot out in the desert last year. Am I blind? I don’t see ammo anywhere on this menu!
Sheesh! the mayor lied? Who would’a thought?
EDIT ALERT!
Whoops!! I got the quote wrong.. What he really said was, “You can literally go to Burger King, if they’re willing to sell it, and buy ammunition,”
What do you shoot .44 Special in? It has long been a favorite of mine but I mostly loaded my own. There did not used to be as good a selection as there is now and it has always been expensive.
I used to have a number of .44 Special revolvers but now I just have my S&W 629 in .44 Magnum. The indoor ranges don’t allow lead bullets so I shoot it very little.
It looks like the top one, but with a wooden handle. It’s teh hubby’s. We’ve only shot it out in the desert and I remember it was powerful and had quite a kick . I’d imagine it would do some real damage to a homeinvasionasshole. We haven’t had much luck around here finding ammo for it, but then, we didn’t look at Burger King!
That’s funny. I almost mentioned that mine had wooden grips now. I really like checkered wooden Hogue grips and almost all my S&W revolvers wear them now.
I never bought or sold guns in my fast food restaurants but I do remember shopping for groceries in stores that had handguns in display cases. I bought a few there, and this was in California.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Cali, Fatwa, and Mac!
Cali -- is the pistol chambered for .44 Special or .44 Magnum? A .44 Magnum will also shoot .44 Special (much more comfortable), but a .44 Special should never be loaded with .44 Magnum.
I had a S&W Model 29 Silhouette pistol (lost in that unfortunate canoeing accident).
That does make it harder to find ammo. I usually load my .44 Magnum to .44 Special levels for comfort. You’ll probably have to buy it online, or at a gun show.
I used to favor 6″ to 8 3/8″ barrels but as my eyes have gotten weaker I have moved closer so most of my revolvers have 4″ or shorter barrels. I still have a Mod 25 Target revolver in .45 ACP and a Mod 17 target revolver in .22 LR with 6″ barrels though.
I buy all my factory ammo online but isn’t that hard or impossible in CA? I know a lot of companies seem to say no shipping to CA. Your rulers don’t seem to trust you much.
I used to have a couple of Charter Arms Bulldogs in .44 Special. I had a heck of a time loading cartridges that would not come loose. Firing a half ounce slug in a 19 ounce revolver the recoil was very sharp and the bullets would pull forward in the cylinders. I ended up using a heavy roll crimp and a taper crimp to keep them secure. Those were much less fun to shoot than my Mod 24 S&Ws in .44 Special.
..of course, the video of Gavin Nuisance making that stupid Burger King comment has been scrubbed off of ALL the news stations.. completely edited out, but I saw it…twice! It must be my lying eyes. I cant find it anywhere now.
But San Francisco’s mayor Gavin Newsome said that “you can literally buy ammunition at Burger King”
What a fookin’ tool; just the kind of shitweasel you want as your Lieutenant Governor.
BTW, here in GA you can “literally” buy guns at Sonic Drive-Ins. Never even have to get out of your vehicle; the carhop brings it right to you. (And if you go between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, they’ll give you a complimentary box of hollow point Tater Tots, too.)
I think I bought my last two mortars and a tactical nuke at the See’s candy store in the mall here, but that is probably why the crime rates are so much higher here in Texas. Oh wait…
Alas, we don’t have See’s here. But there’s a mall nearby where you can get chocolate chip throwing stars at Mrs. Fields’. (They’re pointy but delicious.)
Hahahahahaha, Mac!
Happy Friday, GN!
In a sane, reasonable America, someone would grab that patrician putz John Effin’ Kerry by the ankles and use him to beat his scumbag boss to death.
Yet again, the silence of our miserable, pusillanimous Congress is deafening; fuck the current government of the United States.

Its a 44 special. Cant use the regular 44 magnum.

Wow, Paddy! Now that is a cannon.

It has a 4-position adjustable front sight for the four distances of silhouette matches.

I am so glad so often I moved to TX.
It’s a work of art, Paddy. If I was going to shoot Silhouette I think I would love to use one of those.

Off to do chores. Nice to see you all.
Off to tow my wife’s car to the shop.
See y’all later.

If you drive to the Home Depot parking lots here, instead of day laborers you find ex-Halliburton mercs in full gear looking for missions.
But try to tell that to Californians and they don’t believe you.
Or maybe some on the left would, given what they think of Texas.

Ahahahahahaha!

And the Orange Julius kiosk sells flamethrowers.
Flamethrowers? Ever heard of TexMex ?
