Happy Veterans day!
Speaking of courage, I got to meet one of the most courageous women alive last night. Diana Niad.
At 64 years old, she swam in shark and box jellyfish infested waters for 53 hours from Cuba to Florida. 110 miles! Everybody thought it was impossible and she was crazy for trying. I watched her fail very publicly and almost die in her 4th attempt, I thought she would give up then, but she got right back in a few months later made it all the way on her 5th try. I invited her to do an easy 1 mile bliss swim with me today in the cove but she had to fly out last night. She is on a book signing tour that has her booked solid. A very friendly lady, easily approachable and a great inspirational speaker. She is definitely one of my heroes! Cant wait to start her book! “Find a Way” which I got signed.

Hai, Cali!

Nice that you got to meet someone you admire last night; hope you enjoy her book, too.

Happy Veteran’s Day, Gerbil Nation!
A special shout-out to our Gerbil Vets!

I got a call this morning from some friends who are being forced out of their home of 14 years -- they decided to take me up on my offer to help them pack. It’s been a long day.

Greetings, all.
This was another one of those roller-coaster days. Bob the realtor was on the phone asking why we hadn’t signed the contract that he forgot to mail. He only sent a page outlining all the closing costs. Which we reluctantly agreed to pay. Anyway, he finally got the thing mailed to us. Of course, it took time to read it and then our scanner wouldn’t work right. In the meantime (the MEANtime) the listing service called about another showing today. Which led us to ask if we she hold off on the signing until we hear that offer? Bob said no, we had verbally agreed & needed to just sign & send it. So I go to Office Depot to get them to send it. As I am pulling in, BW calls, crying, saying “Come home now & don’t send the contract”. I get back home & Bob had left a message that the guy backed out of the deal & that he was going to contact a lady that had wanted to be called if the deal fell through. BW was too upset to answer the phone when he called. I don’t know if the lady was the one that saw it today or someone else.

What I think happened is that the take-over company has lit a fire under Bob to get a house sold-any house-soon. I also think that the guy that wanted the house realized that he wasn’t going to be able to get us to pay for any repairs like he planned. And he backed out before he had to put any money down.

All of this negotiating is just an energy drain on BW. I’m trying my best to keep things on an even keel for her & she just keeps riding these awful waves. I know this will end, but it can’t come soon enough.
And in the middle of slow-typing this, ZS called to tell me WG has sinusitis & wants to know if his symptoms matched when BW had it. Well, that was what she said, but she really wanted us to offer to bring him something. I just told her BW had the same symptoms & to take a hot shower! Ha! That got her off the phone!

Paddy, sorry about your friends. You are a good gerbil to help them move.

See y’all tomorrow.
