Happy Hump Day, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven teh First, and Fatwa!
I didn’t catch any of the debate, either. I figure I can save time and stress by reading summaries. I wonder how bad the moderators sucked? I wonder what stupid things Donald The Trump said? I read something last night that put forth the idea that the real story isn’t that Trump is leading -- the real story is that the non-establishment candidates are polling at 67.5%, while the GOPe is only polling at 22.5%.
Yesterday we skipped going to TMP. The day started off very cloudy and dark. By the afternoon, it was sunny & warm but we lost interest in pool & yardwork. In the morning, BW has to see her doc on that side of town, so we will do the pool stuff afterwards.
Monday’s therapy session was a bunch of prompting or prodding us to consider our “new ” traditions of how we want to celebrate Christmas, since we are the family now. I mean, I haven’t even decorated the house in the last few years. So today I dragged out the Christmas box with all the do-dads. The little plastic tree was a mess & the lights didn’t work. We went to Walgreens & bought a new plastic tree that comes with lights, another set of mini-lights and a lighted nativity scene that plays “Away in a manger” and “Silent Night”. All of this, plus some sentimental ornaments, candles, and things, I put on a card table. I used to decorate our coffee table, but we don’t have one anymore. So, it isn’t “arranged” yet, I just wanted to drag it out & see what we had. We will finish it tomorrow. And of course all the old Christmas cards from years past.
We also went to Kohl’s to shop for Good Niece’s daughter and Good Nephew’s son. BW bought me a bunch of jigsaw puzzles. I bought her a beautiful rug for her bathroom-a cardinal on a pine branch. Then I found a little rug that says “Home for Christmas.” The “o” in home is a big red shape of Texas. (I read somewhere that other people don’t understand why we like to put our shape on everything. I feel sorry for them not living in Texas!) This is the first year that BW will be “home” for Christmas with me.
So while we are trying to come up with some Christmas cheer, it has been an emotional day for both of us. We couldn’t go through the cards yet, some are from people no longer living. BW dug out a picture frame snow globe that we had never used & she wanted to put a picture of us in it. Well, that involved searching for one that was in a huge plastic bin that has a lot of loose pictures & things. I used to make photo albums & scrap books. A few years ago, I quit doing that & just started dumping them in a bin & never got around to organizing them. Anyway, in looking for that picture, we ran across people & pets that are not here anymore.
This being jolly is about to kill us! Ha!
We had talked about maybe going to a bed & breakfast out of town for Christmas and even a trip to Tiny Town to lay a wreath. But we don’t want to intrude on the relatives’ and decided to go there after the holidays. Maybe plan to go have next Christmas there. Oh, by the way, their six-man football team just won their seventh State Championship!
I didn’t intend to watch the debate last night. At one point, I flipped over to it & saw Trump slapping Bush & I was hooked. This was about an hour or so into it. I ended up watching the whole thing & a little bit of the post-mortum. Let’s just say that afterwards I had an earworm of “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” running in my head.
Sven, glad to hear that troll cat is up to his smelly ol’ self again!
I’ll be hoppin’ out now.
Have a good evening.

It’s hard to make this kind of adjustment. I am sorry for the pain the two of you are feeling but I am glad you have each other. It helps when the family can support each other but sadly that is just not possible here. To make it worse you have been tied up with the house too long and not able to step back. I hope that settles soon and that you both can find some peace.
First! Ha!
¡Hola, Gerbiliños!
Hai, Sven!
Didn’t watch teh GOP
shitshowdebate last night or pay attention to any live-blogging of it.George Washington warned of political parties in his farewell address; they tend to put party before country. Seems he called that right.
I’m so old that I can remember a time when some candidates didn’t completely suck.
Hi Fatwa, Waves. Off to work.
Happy Hump Day, Gerbil Nation!

And that, is what you call an “inconvenient truth”.
Hai, TeX! I hope all is well on the S.E. Tejas prairie!

I wonder how this event went:
Well, everyone knows you can’t mention Santa or Christmas at a public school, so…
I’ll bet I know who can be mentioned…IYKWIMAITTYD.

…”I feel sorry for them not living in Texas!”…
Love it.

I think about you both, often.
