According to the text of HB 731, the bill focuses on ” dangerous instrumentalities and practices” by prohibiting the “possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.” Moreover, the details punishment for crimes involving “the possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.”
It also “[designates] certain weaponry and ammunition as contraband and [requires] seizure of such by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.”

I thought that Obama said he wasn’t going to take away anyone’s guns--that was just the stuff of fairy tales and whackobird conspiracy theories. As the head of his party, you’d think he’d know what they were doign in places in Georgia or will Obama come out today and strongly denounce this effort?
If only there was something like, I don’t know…a reporter or the media, that could ask his opinion on this.

It’s another beautiful day in paradise, and I’m still unemployed. I’m sure that will change any day now, ‘cuz the Precedent said the economy was all better.
Meanwhile, I heard it through the grapevine (cue the California Raisins) that two more high school teachers left the district I was in under circumstances that sounded remarkably like mine.

Greetings, all!
Olive the thread picture. It is from the Shotime series called “Penny Dreadful”. I don’t know if anyone here watches it. BW stumbled onto it a while back and we were instantly hooked! Just watching it for the period costumes alone is worth it. Anyway, we got hooked & then had to go back & watch the first season. The third season won’t be out until June, I think. It is the first drama series that we’ve watched in years.
Yesterday, the title guy called wanting some papers from BW, so I guess things are moving along. BW is still going back & forth about how much she wants to counter offer. Bob is going to get a pool guy out to do a line item estimate because what their guy said seemed off. We could have gone over there today, but neither of us wants . Maybe Good Nephew will get the heater back together this weekend.
Sis called last night to tell us that she will be driving Worthless Grandson back to jail tonight unless we give them money. I said “No”. She said Zombie Sis is talking about “going to a loan shark” unless we pay. I said that wasn’t a very good idea. (HA!) She said WG will go to the county jail for 10 days & then if he doesn’t pay up, he will go to prison. I asked if he had worked or even tried & she said “No.” I said, “Well, he has sat on the couch for three months & his emergency is not our problem.” She said she understood, but ZS & WG were crying & begging her to call us. She’s sick of hauling them around, too. He knew that he owed those fees and they were piling up, he made no effort to even try “day labor” to get some money. Just sat on his Mama’s couch & watched TV for the last couple of months. So, it looks like they have finally run out of other people’s money.
BW & I had a burst of energy & went through her closet. Combined with my Goodwill bags, we filled half of my truck bed and I carted it off.
Oh, here’s an almost cooking or recipe tip. You know that Waldorf salad that is just a cut-up apple with celery, raisins, walnuts and mayo? I only had a can of cashew pieces and they worked just as well. I have used pecans before, too.
The man water line from the street meter to CasaK carped its own bed early yesterday morning. Fortunately, the saturated ground in the break area made it relatively easy to locate.
SiL came over this afternoon for digging / plumbing fun. Just got done bleeding all the air from the lines and things seem to be okay. (But there was one persistent air bubble that was a pain in my tuchis.)
I think our front yard needs some grading work this year. (They didn’t do a stellar job when CasaK was built; there’s been some subsidence which probably caused the break.)
Yay! Another larger-ticket maintenance item!! 👿
(And why is it that after even relatively small excavation jobs there’s a wee bit more hole than dirt? Tarnation!!!)
