Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

As Paddy might say, “Sure Happy It’s Thursday, GN!”

Today’s thread pic reminds me of “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”.

While it’s too late for yesterdays Darwinner, this is generally sound advice:

Amusing mockery of Donald Trump: Let Me Tell You About Smaug.

See now Gandalf, that guy is a total failure. Very low in the polls. Can’t win Rohan, can’t win Gondor. Everywhere I go they tell me they are glad to get rid of him. How many towers has he built? He doesn’t even have his own house. Very low energy. His idea of a good hotel, you ever been to the Green Dragon? What a dump. Terrible mattresses. Good beer, you know, I give him that, I don’t drink but they tell me very good beer, but the place attracts a very bad crowd, not classy at all. Awful service. Gandalf is like – dwarves, hobbits, these guys in green smocks and stuff – I mean, I’m very open-minded, the dwarves love me, but this is who you ask to kill a dragon? You bring them in and they fight over gold, we need to make better deals and tell them to go get their own gold. Very bad deals!

Heh. Yeah, that’s Trump to a tee.

After eight years of Obama, I dread having to listen to Trump for four or more.

We are so f**ked.

Hai, Sven!

We are so f**ked.

Yep.

Too bad so few people seem to care about holding politicians to their oaths of office…especially the bits about fealty to the Constitution.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!

I read a piece the other day over at AosHQ that pretty much laid out the GOPe presidential election game plan. Attack Cruz so he scores a distant second in Iowa and New Hampshire. When Cruz drops out, all his support will go to Rubio (they know most Cruz supporters don’t like Trump, but if Trump drops out, his supporters will shift to Cruz -- can’t have that). Support the ever-lovin’ crap out of Rubio so he beats Trump and their guy goes on to the general election. The point is not to have a GOP win, it’s to have a GOPe win.

Hai, Paddy!

How does that get ¡Jeb! elected? 🙂

I think they realize that Jeb stands no chance of getting elected.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Huh…they’re not usually so accepting of reality.

I am deeply suspicious.

And speaking of suspicious: Per the BBC -- man with two handguns, a box of ammunition and a copy of the Koran was arrested at a hotel at Disneyland Paris.

Nice to know there are others who share my feelings about “It’s A Small World After All.”

In another installment of “If You’re a Cop You Can Get Away With (Just About) Anything”:

No charges for LAPD officers in mistaken Dorner shooting; memo details how things went wrong

The Los Angeles police sergeant was worried.

He and a group of officers were responsible for protecting the Torrance home of a police captain believed to be a target of Christopher Dorner, a rogue former cop who was in the middle of a vengeful rampage against police and their families.

The tense scene and chaotic moments that followed were described in detail in a memo released by the district attorney’s office Wednesday, when prosecutors announced they would not charge the officers who opened fire on two newspaper delivery women they mistook for Dorner. The mother and daughter were in a blue Toyota Tacoma truck; the officers had been warned that Dorner was driving a blue or gray Nissan Titan pickup. A sergeant and seven officers stationed outside the home unleashed more than 100 rounds, mistakenly believing they were under fire.

Over 100 rounds fired and neither occupant of the vehicle was killed (the mother was hit twice in the back). Oh, the reason they thought they were under fire? Someone mistook the sound of a newspaper landing on a driveway for a gunshot.

It’s good to be one of the goonyunized, pampered, unaccountable King’s Men.

Yet another example why no public officials or employees should have immunity.

But should have to purchase professional liability insurance out of their own pockets. Screw-up too much or too badly and you become uninsurable, thus unemployable.

(I still recall the first “settlement” offer made to those women: a new pickup from Galpin…which they’d have had to pay income taxes on. Glad they sued and won, but that’s unfair to taxpayers.)

Not only is it unfair to taxpayers, it in no way punishes the LAPD.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Why would anyone want to punish L.A.’s Brave Heroes In Blue™?

Besides, that flung newspaper was coming right at them!!! Plus, those Hispanic women were just asking to be shot at.

(If you don’t want to get shot at 103 times, don’t be driving a vehicle which doesn’t match the suspect vehicle. It’s that simple.)

Hai, Mac!

Forgot about that; heh.

I’ve also been told “never, but never, mess with a woman named Lupe”.
