On Wednesday, an “investigator” from the DA’s office pounded the snot out of a defense attorney. In the courthouse. (I’m pretty certain the defense attorney didn’t fight back, as he was not arrested.)
The quote from the president of the deputies’ union is particularly obnoxious. Any deputies who are decent humans ought to be screaming for his dismissal…but I’m quite confident they will remain silent. Because when push comes to shove, almost all LEOs will abide by the “thin blue line”.
But when the DA’s office has been illegally using jail-house informants and failing to share exculpatory evidence with the defense, it’s hard to fault the defense attorney for bringing it to light.
If there were any justice in the criminal justice system in America, there’d be a metric carp tonne of LEOs, lawyers -- especially prosecutors -- and judges doing hard time.
Or on death row, if they withheld exculpatory evidence re people who were convicted and murdered by the state.
I don’t like or support Trump, but the talking heads on cable saying how he has to calm everyone down is a hoot. Trump didnt do this nor did his supporters. They ought to be asking Clinton and Sanders to make statements condemning the violence of their supporters.
And now that the anti-Trumpers have had a success, I expect things to just get nastier, but his supporters don’t appear to be in the mood to put up with it.
