A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!

It’s cloudy and chilly, but there is no rain -- at least for my area -- for the next few days.

Mac -- your MO comment made me LOL.

Good morning, happy Sunday, and hi, Paddy!

Snort-worthy, Mac. Thanks.

The tolerant left at it again. I’m sure the music industry will be up in arms over this:
http://www.eastbaytimes.com/2017/02/18/black-metal-show-in-oakland-cancelled-after-threats/

“After anti-fascist groups threatened to protest the event, the Oakland Metro Operahouse cancelled a Saturday show featuring Marduk, a Swedish-based black metal band.”

The official statement: “In the last week we have read interview after interview with Marduk spanning over the last 20 years and found no statements indicating the band are white supremacists, nationalists, or anti-immigrant. That being said, we don’t want to subject our security staff, venue staff or the public to violence. Our staff is almost exclusively POC and/or LBGTQ and they have all expressed the desire to work, but as we are getting threats, we just can’t risk it. So, in the interest of safety, and because the Oakland Police Department would have insisted anyway, we have canceled the Marduk performance on Feb 18.”

Gotta love them sensitive, tolerant, open-minded, arts-loving liberals.

Criminy.

G’day, Wheelizens and hai, Paddy & Sven!

Mac’s MO comment made me chortle, too; excellent meme.

======================================

I was bummed to read about the death of Clyde Stubblefield, who was one of James Brown’s two most legendary drummers. He was a “prime source” in the development of a style of uniquely American music which I’ve loved for (literally) fifty years.

I haz a bit of a sad.
