Nope…never saw “Pacific Rim” aside from a trailer. Cute lurching kitteh, ‘tho. 😉

Happy to read your planned power outage was shorter than anticipated; working from the library must have been a PITA.
Got a call allegedly from TX yesterday; it was a prerecorded message from the “IRS” stating that they’d sworn out an arrest warrant for me. I stayed on the line long enough for a live person to pick up. As he started his schtick, I told him I didn’t have time to talk to him just then because of what his Mom was busy doing.
He terminated the call rather abruptly for some reason. 👿
I watched an older movie the other night that I really liked: 52 Pickup. Has Roy Scheider and Ann Margaret and a great performance by Clarence Williams III -- the guy who played Linc in the original Mod Squad. It’s an Elmore Leonard story about a businessman being blackmailed. It’s on Amazon Prime and probably Netflix. Really worth watching.
When I have time, I enjoy messing with phone scammers. Got a call last week from one who said he was from Microsoft phoning me because of an issue with my Windows computer. I played dumb with him for few minutes just to waste his time…before invoking his mama. (Which has been my go-to with phone solicitors of any sort for years.)
Sven, I saw 52 Pickup long ago and liked it enough I later added it to my collection and have watched it a number of times. Several good performances there.
Paddy, sorry about the power problems. I can’t imagine trying to do your job under those conditions. I hope the new equipment works better.
Hi Fatwa, the movie had some weaknesses typical of the time and the producers, but it had a number of very interesting performances that made the movie very enjoyable to me. Remembering it I really wanted it for my collection. I never watched Mod Squad but I was familiar with the Link character. I have seen Clarence Williams III give several interesting performances in movies. This one, The Legend of 1900 (a movie I found intriguing, being a Tim Roth fan), and Hoodlum.
One weakness is Ann Margret. Her character has very little screen time and what she does have is just kind of meh. But the bad guys are very well done and there’s scenes that stick with you.
G’morning, GN!

Heh. Good on you, Fatwa.

Thanks for the movie recommendation.

Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Given the stories that Fatwa just shared, does that make him a mama’s boy? Or mama’s favorite? NTTAWWT

Hai, Sven, Paddy and Mac!
Probably more accurate to classify me as a “yo’ mama’s” boy.
Mac-
That’s a second recommendation re “52 Pickup” from a discerning Wheelizen; I ought to check it out.

I forgot to mention that cats walking on their hind legs creeps me out.
Two legs bad.
Two legs better!
I see the ROP has been busy again.
Yep…too bad today’s Jihad Boy died before they could interrogate him. And that he killed and injured so many people, of course.
Enjoy your 72 raisins, IslamoChump.
And the Mayor of London tells us that these terror attacks are just part of living in a city? But you don’t need to defend yourself, right?
If I was a Muslim I think I might be offended by that remark.
In fairness, if you were a Muslim you’d be offended by almost any remark. “Ulululululululululul!” 👿
