Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Friday, GN!

Mac --

Sorry this is a rough anniversary for you; so glad you have your TX and GN families to lean on if need be.

Paddy --

Hope you’re feeling better today.

=====================

This place -- and its people -- sure mean a lot to me, too. Still vividly remember the second trip I made to Happy Larryville from Cleveland; met my future in-laws and several fellow Wheelizens all over the course of 72 hours.

The primary thing which got me through that was LambiePieK, ’cause I was one seriously anxious Yankee. (It also helped enormously that Wheelizens and ClanK are such good peeps.)

Looking back on that visit, I guess Brenda and I already had a lot of faith in one another as well as in being a good “team”. In retrospect, I’m a bit amazed I had the cojones to actually get on that plane. 😉

Fortunately, it all worked out pretty well.

And good morning, Fatwa. Happy Friday, GN! Thanks for updating me on the Maxine Waters troubles. Good on her for pointing out that America still has a long ways to go to put our evil white racist past behind us.

AoS had a hilarious post yesterday about the guy that designed the Hillary logo.

G’mornin’, Sven!

Ms. Waters is one of several hundred reasons I dream of the repeal of the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929, which locked the House of Representatives at 535 reps. (And will probably never be repealed.)

The Constitution stipulated that no member of the House should have more than 30,000 constituents…which means there should be about 11,000 people in the House these days; the Founders wanted real accountability.

Imagine the possibilities… 👿

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!

I have no voice this morning and didn’t get much sleep last night, We’ll see how today goes. Thanks for the well wishes.

Y’all are a great bunch of friends and I wish it were easier to get together. You are seriously some of the nicest and most generous and hospitable people I’ve known. My life has been enormously enriched by knowing each and every one of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Hai, Paddy --

Sorry you’ve got teh creeping crud; hope you get your your voice back -- and some sleep -- soon.

Had to have a couple of diseased trees removed from the front of CasaK today. The crew was personable, professional and efficient; I enjoyed watching a nearly 30′ tall pecan tree disappear into the rather large chipper.

As one guy finished cleaning-up, I asked the crew how much they’d charge to go to Capitol Hill. They laughed; the most “good ol’ boy” guy allowed as to how he’d do that job free…as long as he got to feed ’em in feet first, which tickled me.

Got a text from Teh Younger -- he got his first subpoena. What??
It’s from a case he was on two years ago, when a father threw his 5 year old daughter off the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. He was the one who found Phoebe, but everyone on the boat and in the Operations-Communications center is being subpoenaed by the DA. Here’s the kicker -- the trial is scheduled for next February.
