Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Paddy --

Hope Teh Younger’s subpoena won’t be too much of a PITA.

Wonder why it’s taken two years for the DA to get around to building a case; seems odd, given the awful nature of this one.

This is really funny. It reminds me of something from 25 years ago.

Happy Saturday, GN! Here’s hoping everybody is feeling better and ready to face the weekend.

We began renting this house that we now own back in 1992. Soon after we moved in, Mrs Sven began having sleeping problems. She kept waking up in the middle of the night from what she described as “whacks in the head.” She of course thought I was doing it and on more than one night she’d wake me up with her own smack and tell me to knock it off. I had no idea what she was talking about, but grew irritable about the whole thing, and since I was already getting blamed for the act, thought about actually smacking her at 3 in the morning. Getting blamed -- might as well do the act. Never did, though.

One night, she gets smacked in the head, wakes up and looks over at me. I’m apparently sound asleep, on the other side of the bed, and wrapped securely in the blankets. Couldn’t have done it. So now it’s on to the ghost explanation, which made as much sense as anything.

As I recall, and she can correct me later, she’s awake in the morning and getting ready for work when she gets whacked from behind again. She whirls around angry and yells at the ghost to knock it off and that was the end of it.

Happy Caturday all you April Fools!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

Fatwa -- two years to decide the guy is sane enough to stand trial, then another year before the trial actually begins. This is the kind of justice system you get when there’s no accountability. BTW, the rep from the DA’s office said if Teh Younger was no longer in the area, they’d pay to bring him out.

Sven -- cool story! Don’t mess with Mrs. Sven!

The wheels of justice do indeed turn slowly. When they turn at all.

Hai, Sven and Paddy!

Sven --

Enjoyed teh story; perhaps the ghost realized Mrs. Sven would be as deadly with a Proton Pack as she is with handguns.

Paddy --

Good of the DA’s minion to say they’d pay for Teh Younger’s trip if need be.

*Rolls eyes hard enough to see own spinal column*

The lack of accountability re DAs / prosecutors across this great nation is one of the larger shames of our justice legal system. NOBODY who works for the public ought to have built-in immunity…from DMV drone to POTUS.

Hai, Mac!

Is that at all similar to the way vampires can’t enter your home unless you invite them in?

Evening Greetings!

This is not a fake April Fools Day story. It is true.

This morning, I was in the computer room working a jigsaw puzzle. BW was outside. I heard her come in and call out, “I’ve fallen.” So I jumped up and ran in the other room to see her heading into the garage. She sat down on the floor. I asked why she was in there & she said she didn’t want to drip blood in the house. Too late. I ran to get a cloth. Blood was coming out of the top of her hear above her ear. Her hand was bloody, too. I’m blood-squeamish, but I ran & got another wet dish towel. The blood wasn’t stopping. I knew she needed stitches and ran to put on my shoes & took her to the Care Now Clinic. She was not wanting to go.
The doctor there tried to clean the wound & couldn’t stop the bleeding. When they released pressure, blood shot out. They said she needed to go to the real ER (by ambulance) & get a CT scan. So that is what happened.
By the time I paid the bill, the ambulance was gone. They had told me to drive slow to the hospital, they weren’t going to use lights & sirens.
When I got there, I saw the ambulance I the bay, but it took a few minutes before they came & got me.

The nurse couldn’t get the wound to stop bleeding long enough to wait for the doctor. They had to run get him earlier than planned. She kept bleeding through the bandages. The doctor had to put stitches in before the CT scan or xrays. I heard him say he put 7 in & then said he needed to put in more. They finally got it to stop bleeding. Her head looked like a cartoon bandage around the top & under the chin! I followed her down to the CT scan & back to her ER room.
Since it was going to be an hour or so to wait on labs, I drove home & got her some clean clothes. I changed my shirt, too. I didn’t know that I had blood on my face , too.
By the time I got back to the hospital, She was almost ready to go home. The xrays on her ankle & wrist didn’t show anything. She did have a concussion and the arterial tear. So she is home with a big ol’ headache & taking Tylenol 3.

Now this this the part that sounds like an April Fools Day joke.

How and Why did she fall?

She built a birdhouse and climbed into the tree to hang it. She heard the lawnmowing crew arrive and didn’t want them to see her in the tree. So she tried to hurry down the ladder. Mis-stepped and fell at least 6-7 ft. She had some bloody metal hinges in her hand, I don’t know id she landed on them or not. The Dr. thinks she hit the ground so hard that her head just split. Anyway, she got up & came in the house. I found the ladder on its side in the yard.

Really, this is a true story!

Mac!
I read what I wrote to BW & she laughed. She was surprised that I was concerned y’all might not believe me. She forgot the tricksey jokes we play on each other.

Oh, it is still beating, so I guess it is ok. Ha! I don’t have any stamina. I can sweep or do laundry or shop, whatever. I just run out of steam pretty quick & have to rest. Next week we are going to visit Winstar for two days. Our first trip since the heart event in January. Hopefully BW won’t be fuzzy-headed by then.
