My cousin died the week before this past one- I guess about 10 days back now. Her brother is having an informal service for her today in the woods where they grew up back in Maryland. I’ll participate via phone -- need to come up with something to say, too. I’m thinking the Custer story which I told here a couple of weeks back and closing with a prayer for the family and friends -- that one from St. Francis de Sales that Paddy was kind enough to pass on to me when my father was ill.

Maaaaaan…every time I start thinking our Congress can’t get any worse, they manage to surprise me.
I never cared for McCain as a politician. I admire him for what he went through in Vietnam, but as a Senator and POTUS candidate, not at all.
Trump, for all his faults and there’s quite a few of them, is at least bringing to light how feckless and phony both the media and DC are.
