Also shows why all public officials ought to be stripped of immunity. AFAIC, in addition to the scumbag judge, every goddamn LEO involved in this incident ought to be stripped of their assets -- homes, cars, bank accounts, investments, etc. -- to be used to help pay compensation to the family.
“I was only following orders” was not an acceptable excuse for Nazis; it ought not be one for folks who are supposed to be “peace officers”.
The judge and top cop ought to be executed summarily. Not hyperbole; apparently the only way to stop this shit is extreme consequences for their shocking disregard of basic constitutional rights. If “because fuck you, that’s why” is acceptable behavior by public servants, it is very much acceptable to me when done by the actual sovereigns of this country.

Thanks to Trump’s appointment of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, we will almost certainly see more of this BS.
I fear too many of those federal judges might agree with Sessions’ opinion that, “Good people don’t smoke marijuana.”
I find that a grave insult to some of my favorite people on the face of this planet as well as a personal affront.
Given that Beauregard’s ratcheting-up civil asset forfeiture (aka “policing for profit”) and ordered about a dozen minions to crack down on the few remaining docs who treat pain in our country, I hope he drops dead.
Or gets taken out for being an a constitution-hating, ambulatory POS. IMHO, he is -- as the saying goes -- one bullet shy of his ideal weight. Shame on Trump for that appointment.

One of the few hopeful signs I’ve seen out of this administration is the quiet appointment of boatloads of conservative judges to the federal bench.
