Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

It looks like it’s going to be another hot one -- everyone stay safe and hydrated!

Hi, Paddy. Hot indeed.

9/11 was an obvious turning point in George Bush’s presidency; I wonder if Texas might be the same for Trump. Maybe he’ll become a little more mature while keeping that outsider edge.

Huh. Our excessive heat warning has been extended through Friday -- triple-digits all week long. Darn glad we put in central AC last year or we’d be done here.

Good evening, GN!

Exciting day. Early this morning, a homeless scumbag trespassed onto the jobsite and stole my briefcase. Long story short, HOA security cameras showed him; Jim promptly drove around neighborhood and found him. Got bag back with most stuff intact except for my meds (blood pressure and Diazepam.)

Jim drove me back to where scumbag was found; was a little surprised I burst from truck and immediately went off on perp in a manner Jim’s never seen in the quarter-century we’ve known one another. πŸ‘Ώ

Cops showed; shithead had no warrants; filing charges would have required return trip so I declined.

Called doc’s office to get help re BP meds (knew they wouldn’t be able to call in Diazepam; that now requires a fucking paper scrip which was obviously not practical).

Fucking FedGov rat bastard fascist asswipes.

Was told by doc to never go “cold turkey” re BP med (carvedilol). Wouldn’t you know even getting that refilled was a problem. Who knew that we have some fucking nationwide crisis with blood pressure medication abuse or something???

Fucking FedGov rat bastard fascist asswipes, always using their fucking hammer.

Finally got that handled but I’m severely pissed that I had to spend so much time and energy to re-up a prescription for BP meds. (Hope I don’t get any back spasms until I get back home.)

Did I say I’m pissed? ‘Cause I sorta am.

By 3:00 this afternoon, it was at least 110ΒΊF in Encino (and hotter on the roof where a couple of guys were using propane torches). Got onto the roof and told Luis (one of our foreman’s sons who was nominally in charge of the guys at “my” site; his dad was on another jobsite) to go home. He said they were going to work another thirty minutes and then reassess.

I called Jim, told him how hot it was and asked him to call Luis and “order” them to go home. (Which Jim promptly did and assured them they’d get paid the full day.)

Amazing guys with teh bestest work ethic ever.

Luis asked if I’d called Jim and I fessed-up. I think they hate my guts now for “ratting them out”. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The FedGov with their diabolical War on Drugs (which is really a War on People) is responsible for this kind of stupid shit.

Perhaps my dilemma today was also caused in-part because it’s across state lines. That fooking Interstate Commerce Clause…

Try finding a doc who treats chronic pain these days; they’re mighty damned few and far between. Because AGs and prosecutors believe they know the “proper” dosages for treating patients.

And AG Jefferson Beauregard Sessions almost certainly gets an erection over prosecuting non-violent Americans for using unapproved substances. Ditto civil asset forfeiture, too.

Sessions is a piece of filth who ought never be given a nanogram of authority over anyone or anything; I hope he dies soon.

And the fact Trump gave him the job tells me our current POTUS doesn’t give a goddamn about liberty or the COTUS, either.
