Just heard briefly from the kids (who -- in a feat of über-carpy timing -- moved back to Orlando over the Labor Day weekend). They’re all okay; the only damage at their place was to a fence. No power or internetz, ‘tho.
Brenda lost contact with them about 11:30 last night, so we were a tich concerned.
The worst of the storm has passed over Larryville; I think we’re in pretty good shape. (Although several dozen times during the course of the day, my UPS flickered on and off. But we never actually lost power; hope that continues.)
Didn’t get as much wind -- especially gusts -- as I’d feared here at CasaK. Ironic that a chunk of the money I made in L.A. is going toward our new roof. The rain was light but non-stop; still a little bit coming down and will continue to the early morning.
The kids are probably still without power; might be a couple of days for them. (Hope not, but likely.)
Monday…gaaaaaah!
We’re now expecting ~4″ of rain throughout the course of the day / evening; allegedly at a rate of about 0.33″ / hour, which ought not be too bad.
More laterz.
Criminy; just realized it’s 09/11.
Islamists killed us; the media killed the story.
Bastards.
Thoughts and prayers, lest we forget.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation.
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven.
9/11 and the media would rather not talk about it. It’s an inconvenient story that doesn’t advance their preferred narrative.
Indeed.
Hai, Sven and Paddy!

Glad they’re doing ok.
Cheers, Paddy; we are, too. 😉
Hope all is still going OK down south.
