I read a NYT article this morning on the “sh!thole imbroglio” and they mentioned that PDT asked why we couldn’t have more immigrants from places like Norway. They then gleefully noted that the population of Norway is 83% ethnically Norwegian, making it a mostly white nation. I guess wanting immigrants from mostly Black, third-world nations isn’t racist, but wanting immigrants from developed nations is.

I am amused to see that the 2018 Word of the Year is “shithole”. CNN anchors and guests are positively giddy over being able to say it on air.

(Particularly that it’s characterized by the usual suspects to be “racist”.)
Having a POTUS who speaks plainly -- whether or not I agree with a particular statement / policy / what-have-you -- is refreshing.
