Last night, Teh Younger came into the living room, smartphone in hand, and announced the winners of the Academy Awards. We got all the information we wanted in less than a minute and didn’t have to listen to bad jokes, even worse cue-card reading, and insipid speeches for 3 hours.
I guess I’ve not a single f*ck to give about the Academy Awards; was only peripherally aware it was on last night.
Read this morning that it was pretty much the expected shit-show; glad to see how much less important Hollywood in-general is becoming to Americans. (I wonder if telling a large swath of us that we’re deplorable scum might have something to do with that…along with the carpy product.)
Upgrading the MacOS on my laptop as I type (on desktop). As of this iteration, the entire update package downloads onto the hard drive -- meaning you can still use the computer while it downloads -- and then runs locally whenever you choose.
Seems like a good idea. Assuming all goes smoothly, I’ll update the desktop either tonight or tomorrow. (Lots of rain-related stuff to handle today.)
Regarding the Oscars, someone at work mentioned that Kobe Bryant won one. I had no idea he was even in the movie business, but it must have been just maybe a little bit awkward for the Hollywood-MeToo elites considering Bryant’s little rape incident years back in Colorado. I wonder if there were boos or such?
