A brush fire broke out about six miles from home, yesterday afternoon. The smell of burnt sage hung heavy in the air and still lingers this morning. Although the fire was still burning last night, we couldn’t see any active flames, meaning it had dipped down into the canyon. I guess fire season has started.

Happy Sunday, GN. Good morning, Paddy -- here’s hoping they got the fire out fully. I have the feeling, but then I have the feeling almost every year now, that this is going to be a bad fire season.
It’s been a while since I bailed out of CA, but the first week of June seems unfortunately early for fire season to start. Sure hope that Sven’s wrong about it being a bad one.

Watched the Capitals yesterday beat the Golden Knights to take a 2-1 lead in the Stanley Cup finals. Was reading that Vegas is nervous if the Knights win the Cup. Why? At the start of the season, the odds were 500-1 on them to win the Cup. There could some HUGE payouts if it does happen.

Some of the comments were darkly funny, i.e.,:
“A good dancer with a gun might have prevented this.”
“Did he buy a shot for the guy he hit?”
“Was he trying to eliminate a dance-off competitor?”
I’m not a betting man, but if I were, I’d wager $5 that’s a Glock.
What’s funny is after the shot fires, the agent is like huh? Doesn’t even go over to see who got shot.
