Teh Squeaky Wheel
That’s some WMD-level whiteness, right there.
I thought it was -- objectively -- a pretty good arrangement and performance for a ceremonial band; it actually grooved* a little bit to my ears. (Especially compared with the majority of pop tunes I’ve heard arranged for, say, marching or concert bands which I find both sadly comedic and cringe-worthy.)
IMO, it was better than 99% of the arrangements of pop songs for that type of ensemble.
I hope the recent departures from Teh Bestest Place Evar won’t make your job significantly more difficult than it already is.
[* “Groove” is one of those musical terms which is damned difficult to describe in words as it’s extremely subjective and largely intangible.]
Don’t expect any impact at work on me and my responsibilities. It is an interesting study tho in management blindness.
Happy Raturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
Definitely -- which is why I try to avoid said performances.
I’ve decided to take the position with the other school. Friday I spent a good portion of my day helping other people solve their problems caused by a lack of training. These problems are exacerbated by the fact that they have no one to turn to for help, except their peers. I then spent another hour after work helping people work through the new timekeeping system so they could get paid. Once the pay period closes, there’s no going back and editing it or approving it (it requires both employee and supervisor approval). I’m sure Mac would recognize all the signs of an organization on the verge of collapse.
Congratulations, Paddy -- happy dance.
Flipping through the McCain Farewell Tour coverage -- never knew that he was so unique, great, humble, wonderful, patriotic, smart, caring, helpful…or that our nation may never recover from our loss.
Heya, Paddy and Sven!
Congratters, Paddy!!1! May the new place be a significant improvement for you.
Happy to read the departures won’t have a negative effect on your job.
From what I’ve seen on Twitter, the Maverick funeral sounds like a slobber fest; someone referred to it as “McCain Holy Week”…heh.
Whenever members of the McCain entourage, including his rather chubby daughter, make the talk show round, I hope someone asks why Sarah Palin wasn’t there.
Her absence is all I need to know about McCain.
Nobody will, because she’s the hallowed Maverick’s grieving daughter; great deference and sensitivity must be shown.
Back to school…
That provided some much-needed levity; t’anks.
