Our short wind free lull is about to end -- winds beginning to pick up -- a stronger Santa Ana event than what occurred last week and expected to last a couple of days. Around our area, power and cable/internet outages from Friday through yesterday night. The Woolsey fire isn’t an issue for us -- it’s that next fire that we worry about. The next two days are going to be stressful.
Air quality incredibly bad. It’s like a blanket of fog covering the west end of the SFV and although the air out here looks clear, more or less, you can feel it in your lungs, throat, and eyes.
One friend lost their home. Mobile home in a place called Seminole Springs up Kanan Road. Reports that the entire park of over 200 mobile homes is destroyed, yet the media isn’t reporting on it -- they seem focused on the more spectacular shots of huge mansions and estates going up in flames.
Thank you, veterans, for keeping us safe from foreign enemies.
(Wish I knew what to do about the domestic ones…)

Sven --
Very sorry to read about your friend’s home (and so many others); what an awful situation. Glad that your home is safe; may it remain that way.
Hope your air quality improves from the winds without endangering you and Mrs. Sven.
Grateful that both my cousins’ and Jim the Roofer’s homes are safe at the present time, too.

It increasingly appears that we had a dirty election here in GA, including Gwinnett Cty. I would prefer if we could avoid both a run-off and Abrams winning.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!
Thanks to all of our veterans -- your actions have helped keep the spark of freedom alive, often in spite of the actions of politicians who want otherwise.
Sven -- I’m sorry about your friend. Sadly, the media thinks it’s more newsworthy when a celebrity loses one of their mansions, than when an average citizen loses their only home.
And off we go! Flareups all over the place -- West Hills in the SFV again -- that’s the one we need to keep an eye on -- and all through the Santa Monica Mountains and that area.
Thank you, veterans. God’s blessings on you and your families.

Very sad. Peter Straus ranch off of Kanan Road is completely destroyed -- this is where we were married almost 30 years ago.

Criminy.

I hate to be that cynical, Paddy, but I’m afraid you may be right.

“Malibu Mansion complete Loss @LACoFDPIO doing its best to save it, but now in defensive mode, at least the Ferrari’s were saved.”
Priorities.
