Happy “Can’t Think Of A Clever Comment About Teh Thread GIF” Wednesday, GN!

Paddy --

Hope you can help your fave students’ Mom get stuff sorted-out with the school.

Sven --

Much as Dan Rather makes me cringe, I watched the whole Simmons interview. Cheers for the heads-up; interesting and articulate character. Never “got” Kiss’ appeal but was fascinated by their marketing success during my first “career” in the record business.

Don’t know if it’s true, but it’s alleged that for one of their early “showcase” gigs for record execs, they rented a bunch of speaker bins and spray-painted their logo onto them to appear as though they already had some $$ behind them (and then spray-painted over their logo afterwards).

I was stunned at the amount of Kiss product (including merchandise) I sold at the Hear Here record store at Cicero, Milwaukee and Irving in Chicago in the mid-seventies. (I still remember the catalog numbers of a bunch of records from back then, Like the Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” LP and Boston’s first one.)

Good morning, Fatwa, and (checks calendar) happy Wednesday, GN!

Gene Simmons is an interesting man. I never joined the KISS Army and always found their success baffling considering the quality of their music, but no denying that they were successful.

Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

I’m driving out to El Centro today with Mrs. Paddy and my SiL to look over the apartments and learn more about the operation. After the latest “stuff” from Mrs. Paddy’s cousin (yesterday), I was going to have them drive out there on their own -- no point in me adding fuel to the fire -- but they’re going to run into snow in the mountains on the way home, so I’ll drive them.

Hi, Sven and Paddy!

Paddy --

That’s good of you to chauffeur Mrs. Paddy and SiL to El Centro; safe journeys to you all (especially with teh mountainous, snowy bits).
