Jim saw one of the worst roofs evar on Friday. It’s a heat-welded APP modified system -- the mainstay of our business -- which was installed last fall on new construction. By assclowns who clearly had not the faintest idea what they were doing.
It’s a residential property in Van Nuys; have a hard time believing the finished roof passed inspection. OTOH, L.A. Building and Safety works in mysterious ways. (One of my favorites is that a two-hour inspection window is actually two-and-a-half hours…so “between 1:00 and 3:00” actually means “between 1:00 and 3:30”, but that’s not what they tell you. You’re simply supposed to know they’re lying shitbags.)
Note that they had an armed security guard. (A retired Berkeley LEO who was shot in the leg and will recover.) In the video, they make a big deal about how he was HIGHLY TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED re guns. Which -- with cops -- is kind of a hit-or-miss thing. 👿

Product recommendations: Walmart’s frozen (house-branded) Great Value Sausage, Egg and Cheese Croissants. Bought a box of four on a lark a couple of weeks ago, ’cause it was only $3.12. Microwaveable and very similar to Burger King’s equivalent (which they microwave after assembling ).
At $0.78 each, they’re a good price performer and nice occasional treat for us denizens of CasaK. (Haven’t been to a BK in years, but I’m certain theirs are well over $2.00 around here.)
Also commend Waddlemart’s GV ice cream sammiches. Are they the best I’ve ever had? Nope. But at $1.98 / dozen locally, they’re damned near free. And much better than I expected.

The lesson from today’s thread-gif: just because someone’s licking your nether regions, doesn’t mean they won’t throw you off a cliff.
Fatwa -- I’m sure the lesson the media wants us to take away is that if even highly trained and experienced LEO’s can get robbed, then there is no hope for the rest of us. Just lay down and let mob do want they want.
