In addition to all the good news Sven noted last night, here’s some more happiness: Taxpayer Sodomy Coolray Stadium, home of the Gwinnett Stripers (formerly the Gwinnet Braves) is eliminating plastic straws and cup lids. Allegedly, this will benefit Lake Lanier, a local body of water best renowned for its rapacious appetite for drunks every summer.
(Still waiting for the promised “economic development” which local supporters morons were told this massive taxpayer “investment” in the stadium would bring.)
So yay!! Fewer striped bass with plastic straws in their gills; that’s another real WIN!
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’m off to the third mandatory, all-hands, professional learning community (PLC) of the year. The last two have been fine, if not exceptional, so I’m hoping this won’t be a complete waste of time.
Good evening gentle Gerbils. I spent my afternoon watching a few videos from election night, 2016. The recent meltdown over the report just had me in the mood for liberal tears. I watched a compilation of “Trump can’t win, won’t be President” clips, Maddow on election night, and the young Turks. It was just as satisfying as I hoped for. I guess I am just a bad boy. Seeing the smug arrogance melt into shocked disbelief and anger just does not get old. Sure hope I can expand the collection next year.
After months of grappling with its stance, Facebook has finally decided to ban white nationalist content on both Facebook and Instagram. Starting next week, US users who attempt to search for or post this type of content will be redirected to a nonprofit that works to help people leave hate groups. Facebook appears to be the first platform to take a stand against white nationalism specifically, but the question of whether other platforms will follow suit, and if Facebook can actually rid its platforms of these kinds of posts, remains to be seen.
No word if black nationalist content will also be banned/redirected.
Cheery Mid-Week Day salutations, Wheelizens!

Not sure why I can’t post images.

Youre a bad gerbil, Mac. But I’m right there beside you.
Geez, what could go wrong with this?
