Happy Pensive Puppeh Friday, GN!

Got a carp-tonne of admin stuff blown-out yesterday; feel like I’m almost on top of things work-wise.

Iz weird; BBL.

While there are two obvious “interpretations” of this illustration, I find them both to be accurate:

Why does it seem that truck should have a recycling logo on it?

Indeed. One positive and one not. Pick up or delivery.

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!

I’ve come to grips with the fact that I won’t get all the things done that need to be done by the end of the day. I will get the “has to be done” stuff done, but the “should be done” will have to wait. Additional training of my coworker will also have to be pushed back, as will corrections to her errors.

I agree wholeheartedly -- Meghan McCain should STFU. “He ran for president in 2000, but he was crushed by the Bush Machine. In 2008 he ran and surprised some people when he picked Sarah Plain as his running mate. Her nomination vaulted your Daddy into the lead. That’s when he stood aside while Democrat operatives in GOPe clothing tried to ruin her political career. He didn’t come to her defense as his running mate. He didn’t come to her defense as a woman. In fact, he didn’t come to her defense at all. What a hero.”

Well, it went OK -- not as well as I would like, but OK.

OK is better than not OK, but I’m sorry it didn’t go as well as expected. Hopefully things will continue to improve.

Watching all the smart talking heads explain what Mueller really meant reminds me of Obama and how for 8 years we had to find the “nuance” in every one of his inane utterances. The “blank canvas unto which we project our aspirations” thing.

Maybe Mueller, like Obama, isn’t as smart as everyone seems to think he is?

We’re obviously not smart enough to understand simple English.

I have a hard time buying this. They were stupid enough to take out loans of $150K that they’ll never repay to go to college for four years and get a degree in wokeness, but are now putting off normal adult things because they cost too much? And if you want to get married, it doesn’t cost that much.

“The findings, researchers say, “debunk many conventional wisdoms about the new-age consumer.” Millennials, they contend, are putting off home-buying and marriage not because they want to, but because rising costs are making it difficult for them to afford down payments and weddings.”

I was having a discussion with some liberal friends at work the other day. One of them said he had listened to some musical piece about Japanese internment camps during WWII and how he was surprised that not everyone loved FDR. I mentioned that it wasn’t just the Japanese that were sent off to camps but some Germans and Italians as well -- he’d never heard of such a thing, but said, in all seriousness, that internment camps were topical because of what Trump was doing.

I burst out laughing. I wasn’t trying to be a dick or mock him, but it just burst out of me and then I couldn’t stop. He looked at me and said with what was going on at the border that it wasn’t a joke.

I remember the day after Trump won the election, the same guy was saying the same thing about the camps, how the gays were going to be rounded up (because Pence) and how the Muslims were going to be rounded up (because racist hater Trump) and how the Mexicans were going to be rounded up (because racist hater Trump). and yet here are, more than two years later and the guy that is worse than Hitler who can’t even build a wall still hasn’t built those darn camps.

Other days, I may have tried to argue with facts or just walked away or turned to another subject. That day, I just laughed. There’s no point arguing and no point trying to convince some people even if they are friends.

Deadwood: The Movie premiers tonight on HBO. That has me excited as I loved the series, but giving the Clintonesque finale failure of Game of Thrones I’m also not getting my hopes up.
