A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!

After church this morning, Mrs. Paddy is driving up to Santa Rosa. She’s leading a work team that will be helping residents rebuild their homes after the October 2017 fire. Yes, after more than a year and a half, many people still aren’t back in the homes they lost. These things really do take time.

I hope Sven’s vision is continuing to improve.

Wishing safe travels for Mrs Paddy. I have a friend in Santa Rosa -- his apartment was OK but his brother and mother both lost their homes back in 2017.

My vision almost seems normal today although I noticed this past week that many people appear to have a nasty brown aura surrounding them. The aura is most prevalent around people sitting in Starbucks or driving electric/hybrid vehicles. Odd.

It sounds like you’re seeing things more clearly.

Is that a real kangaroo or just a walla-be?

Mac --

Thanks for posting about Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr.; I didn’t know about him, or what he did on D-Day.

I marvel at men like that.

Smacking myself in my head -- thanks, Fatwa -- I meant to thank Mac as well and plain forgot! Thanks for that, Mac.

A pleasant surprise. I went into the attic to check the mouse traps and not a single one had been touched. That’s like 3 months now without a dead rodent.

On the other hand, why the reduction in the mouse population? Snakes come to mind…

Local power outages -- several transformers have blown and power lines are down north of us. It hit 101 about an hour ago. No winds to speak of.

SCE is asking for a rate increase to cover their investment in infrastructure improvements. Funny, I thought maintaining infrastructure was a standard business expense that should already be accounted for.

I imagine CA will experience booming sales of gasoline generators this year.

How this will work out when we have red flag warnings due to high temps and Santa Ana winds that last several days is anyone’s guess.

Yeah, we know you don’t have a choice in electricity providers. So sorry about cutting off your power, but it’s either that or burning your house down. I’m sure you understand.

6 Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita got evacuated earlier due to a brush fire. Looks like under control.
