Teh Squeaky Wheel
Good morning, GN.
Thank you, Mac; certainly neither BrendaK nor I have forgotten.
I remember that terrible day all too well.
Good morning, friends.
Good morning, Gentle Friends.
A reflective good morning, Gerbil Nation.
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac.
An email was awaiting me in my school inbox, from the instructional coaches to all faculty. The subject was “September 11: Never Forget Lesson Plans” and it contained lesson plans to help students learn about what happened and the “brave heroes: ordinary people, first responders and canine units who rose to the occasion when the unthinkable happened.” I can’t recall any school I previously worked at doing anything similar.
Hi, Sven, Mac and Paddy.
This is always a rough anniversary for me; hard to believe it’s been eighteen years.
As will surprise none of you, the NYT had some Tweets earlier today re 9/11 which were in the passive voice…as though those planes were flying themselves in 2001. The Tweets were “disappeared” after folks reacted to them by -- quite properly -- excoriating them.
Truly no shame.
Nice that your school had some lesson plans for today; one hopes they were appropriate. (Seems to me that emailing them a few days early might have been a good thing, no?)
I’m sure you’ve seen this, but I figured it deserved a place here as well:
I listened to the full hour plus of the Ted Cruz-Alyssa Milano “debate.” It was awful. Milano showed up with two guys -- one of them the father of a girl murdered at that HS in Florida and the other guy I’m not sure of. Milano appeared stoned and let her buddies do most of the talking. Cruz was polite, made a few points, but didn’t argue -- he mostly listened. He did make a few decent points in rebuttal, but like the usual leftie discussions, his opponents veered off into other directions.
So much for her wanting to have a discussion with Sen. Cruz.
