The Dallas Morning News had a little op-ed re CA’s electricity clusterfark:
Power came back on last night, so somewhat back to normal. Maria fire about 15 miles north of here near Santa Paula is up to 8000 acres now, but wind conditions are much better today. Despite all the damage, SoCal dodged a bullet this past week -- it could have been so much worse.

Maaaaan…inexpensive 1T portable hard drives are a goodness. (I’m so old, I remember when zip drives were a thing. And when I thought a 2G hard drive in my desktop was luxury.)
it was cool. Bootable IDE and also read standard floppies. I couldn’t even remember now the size. They were 1.44mb but I had to look up that they were 3 1/2 inches I totally forgot. I think its’ because we used to call the big ones 5 1/4 inch after their size, but the little ones 1.44 after their capacity.

Yeah, when I replaced my floppy drive with a backward compatible LS-120 I thought i was Stylin’!!!
