Hope you’ve been able to retrieve the contents of your (c)old hard drive; that sucks.
Sinve I’ve got 4 drive bays in my desktop, I’ve got a second “backup” drive installed and use Time Machine to do automated backups. (Also have a 1T portable hard drive I got to backup my laptop, transfer data and also use as a “grab-and-go” archive in the event a disaster occurs and I’m a) at home, and b) can get to it.)
I should probably take advantage of Google Drive’s free 15 gigs of cloud backup, as that would accommodate my main Gmail account (already there), all JimCo files and my original music files (including the Digital Performer -- which is my main music creation app -- files).
There’s this new cloud thing I’ve been looking into. It’s distributed and open source. It has some commercial nodes, I think. but I’m still not sure. It evidently can be run on your own equipment AND other public servers, It’s end-to-end encrypted. And Twice now I’ve forgotten what it is called until I look up the email where I made note of it.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good afternoon, dv8, Fatwa, and Jerry!!!!
Jerry -- I’m sure they can’t match the quality of your crab cakes.
I downloaded a couple of file recovery programs. One ran all night, then needed to be run again this morning. I recovered a few files from that one, but can’t find my email files. I”m now running a second program -- we’ll see if that finds anything.
Good night everyone. Today was a tough day for me. At least we both got to church. I kinda wish I’d done some grocery topping up afterward, but I didn’t.
I drink lots of diet soda because a long time ago, I decided I didn’t want to have to account for the carb content in my drinks, making higher protein meals easier to calculate.
Up until that time, I only drank real Coke. On a side note, I discovered that if you drink diet for about a week, it starts tasting normal.
But to continue, I usually get a mix of regular diet cola and caffeine free, because I can switch to that later on when I need to sleep in an hour or so, or when I’m feeling a bit jumpy for whatever reason and don’t want to feel even more jumpy.
I was too lazy to go out, because I had some soda but it was all caffeinated. I had maybe 1/3 of a bottle of decaf left. I know, I know; this is riveting, riveting stuff. I’ll try to be less sensational in the future.
I realize, I didn’t really explain why this was a difficult day. But I’m not sure myself. It just was.
Good Mornin’ Gerbils!!
Sunday is fun-day?
Sunday is pun-day?
Sunday is gun-day?

More JimCo fun today; BBL.

Good morning dv8 and Fatwa. This sign is across the street from my hotel. It’s giving me PTSTD! Why must they mock me so?
Drive-by:
Nice to “see” you, Crabby Jerry!
Hope your FL trip is both remunerative and a nice break from winter in Bountiful.

Heh:
I think I was pretty crabby today as well. Enough to take a flamethrower to Beru and Owen.
Beru and Owen Lars did not commit suicide.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!

G’nite everyone.
Good night, dv8. I hope the caffeine doesn’t keep you awake.
Thank you paddy.
