Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Po’, po’ thread puppeh…

It’s a damp, foggy day in Larryville town. Which means that our Charter Communications internet connection is for shit. (This also happens on dry, sunny days, like Sunday; I know there’s some constant there, I just can’t quite put my finger on it…)

Criminy.

Sorry about all of the stuff you weren’t able to retrieve from your old hard drive; that sucks.

I remember once on the wheel long ago someone on the wheel made a Coexist bumper sticker design that had hilariously conflicting ideological symbols on it. I’d love to see that one again. Probably it was over ten years ago and nobody remembers it.

This one is pretty good though.

Harper reminded me it was BrendaK who did it, so mayhaps… you DO remember ???

If so I wouldn’t mind seeing that again.

Happy Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Mac!

Sorry about your innertubes, Fatwa. All-in-all, we’ve been pretty lucky with our ISP.

Mac -- now that Thunderbird works with Gmail, I may create a couple of new accounts and slowly transition my three ISP-based email addresses over to Gmail.

Getting ready to review two more microphones. Wish some company would give me a 4k camera to play with : )

I was experimenting with all my new stuff today to make sure it worked. SD cards work in the camera, I pretty much get how the camera works now anyway. Not sure if I wanna use it as a webcam now or not. It’s actually not any more powerful than my logitech webcam, really. Better lenses, maybe, but the resolution is the same.

I’ll experiment with it and see how it goes.

update: The camera doesn’t really have any hardware controllable elements, so unlike Logitech, even though it has a fancy lens, it really has no controls when used as a webcam. So It’s okay as a secondary cam, or a standalone, but not an improvement on a webcam. I can add filters and color correction in OBS for example, but other than that, it’s not fully functional.

The advantage of a good ol’ Logitech, is that the control software that comes with it, and augments its function and controls whatever hardware can be controlled (such as focus) is really pretty good.

Although I hear the windows native generic camera control software is pretty good just as long as your camera has things that can be controlled; otherwise, most of the options are grayed out.

My cheap $7 webcam has no hardware stuff but windows does allow some color correction and other stuff that is not even available in my vlogging camera when its used as a webcam.

Still, it’s kind of a neat li’l cheap camera. A friend of mine is gonna loan me a SONY though which ought to be pretty good. Also Harper has an old DLSR which can also be used as a webcam I think. But I think I misplaced the cord to it.

With all the USB devices I’ve been getting, I think I’m going to have to get a 3.1 hub. I’m really using most of my USB outlets native to my motherboard.

Poor dog -- poor Bernie Bro.

Thank God I got out of work on time so I can prepare for the Democrat Debate.

What a freak show -- the only thing I learned is that Warren isn’t much good with math. She had a hard time figuring out that 1990 was 30 years ago. The rest of it is the usual leftist bullshit.
