Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Americans held hostage in their own homes, day whatever…

We’re actually good in Happy Larryville; so far, our Governor (Kemp, not Gaptooth McSoreLoser) has kept any fascist tendencies he may have from escaping his lie-hole in a public forum.

As such, we may cautiously go about our daily lives, although it appears that many businesses have decided -- for whatever reasons -- to close themselves.

Once again, I wish there were some reliable sources for Chinese Lung Rabies information but years of media and gummint prevarication make that rather difficult.

Fark the Democrat Party -- Media Complex -- much harder than usual -- for the shenanigans they pulled in D.C. yesterday.

Morning Mac, Fatwa. Glad you got stuff ok. Very glad Fatwa has coffee. Time for some work training. I’ll try to check in if I have time.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Hi, Mac and dv8!

Mac --

I swear I refreshed before posting my comment and didn’t see your 7:03; my apologies, I was not being rude.

Glad you were reasonably successful at Walmart; our two local super centers have done remarkably well restocking stuff. On more than one occasion, I’ve seen semis backed-up into the parking lot awaiting a bay at the store docks.

Wonder what fresh hell awaits us today…guess we’ll see. Yay!

Islamic “science”: Khadar Bin Muhammad, a Syracuse, NY imam, says that coronavirus is a manifestation of Allah’s wrath because women are showing their ankles.

I bet it’s because “white” women are showing their ankles.

Good morning Fatwa, Mac, Dv8 and teh rest of the GN!

Glad you were able to get some shopping done, Mac, for you and your extended family. Was hoping things were maybe in better shape in Texas.

Woke up this morning to the sound of mice/rats in the attic. They’ve been ignoring traps baited with peanut butter, so time to try something else and set more. Little bastards are apparently evolving.

OK, 6 new traps and new locations. Cat food, cream cheese, honey, maple syrup, and peanut butter.

Good luck with your rodent hunting! Have you sealed up access to your attic?

I have gone round and round this house and can’t figure out how they are getting in. The ones inside the house, I blame on Jack Tatum.

For most of last year, we didn’t have any problems. If it keeps up, will have a professional come out and take a look.

Are they getting into your garage, then into the attic? A rat only needs a hole the size of a quarter, a mouse much less.

(Coumadin) (Warfarin) related poison is the only way to truly rid yourself of them. It was very necessary in Portland where we had so much rain and so very many types of rodents.

Happy Armageddon Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Mac!, Fatwa. dv8. and Sven!

I’m off to Costco. They’re open from 8-9 am for those 60 and over, so I thought I’d give it a go and pick up some stuff for both us and the food closet at Mrs. Paddy’s church. Wish me luck!

Well, that was a total bust! The parking lot was full and they had the line wrapped back on itself 6 or 7 times. Each part of the line was about 75 yards long, with more people coming into it each second. I turned around and drove home. I might give it another shot on Thursday (they’re only doing early hours on Tues. and Thurs.).

I call bullshit on this. From the NY Times: Spit On, Yelled At, Attacked: Chinese-Americans Fear for Their Safety -- As bigots blame them for the coronavirus and President Trump labels it the “Chinese virus,” many Chinese-Americans say they are terrified of what could come next…

Yes, the internment camps are scheduled for April 1.

Since we are all getting pats on the back for staying home and doing nothing, I want points for not yelling at two Asian-looking women I saw walking down the street this afternoon.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

G’mornin’, Paddy!

Armageddon sick and tired of the “nabobs of negativism” with their relentless “Orange Man Bad Satan-spawn” reportage.

Sorry your Costco trip was a bust. ‘Round here, it appears the panic-buying has largely abated…at least temporarily.

Sven --

Hope you don’t have a Disney infestation. 👿

Over the past few days several Asian-American Twitter Blue-checks have claimed name-calling and other COVID-related bigotry in places like San Francisco. Riiiiiiight…not buying it.

…many Chinese-Americans say they are terrified of what could come next…

They could learn from the Roof Koreans. 🙂

Good Gerbilly morning Mac, Sven, Fatwa, DV8 and Paddy from the middle time zone and still-quiet prairie!

At this point, shopping is a little like “Chopped” in that you’re faced with substitutions (i.e. two or three cans of something people have left on the shelf).
HEB has two staff outside the front doors directing people to the anti-bac dispenser *just* inside the door. Wal-Mart took the caps off the anti-bac wipes dispensers (so I guess you can make a costume?)

However, the couple of times I’ve been out, I’ve seen a little patience and courtesy make a comeback.
A little.

As Fatwa noted, there’s this:
Armageddon sick and tired of the “nabobs of negativism” with their relentless “Orange Man Bad Satan-spawn” reportage.

So shrill it hurts my ears; even when it’s my buddy Bob typing it at me.

I’m doing my own research project, becoming a little bit of an epidemiologist myself because the questionable information coming from the media, just sows fear and more fear.

The more you know and all that.

Well, I did check in on the Wheel while I was out, but ran out of time to post a comment, Good to see TeX_LA here along with everyone else.

My fan control software has a bug where sometimes it turns all my computer fans on full blast even when nothing is going on. Then you have to switch it to “Auto” and then back to “Hi Performance” to clear out the effect.

I could run it in auto all the time, but I don’t trust it to work properly and switch into Hi Performance mode when it should. That would be annoying.

Also, glad I didn’t change jobs. In all probability, I’d be out of a job now, whereas news papers still are considered “essential.”

I remember the Anschutz peep sights on the target rifles in college. The adjustment knobs had a directional arrow and a single letter, like R or O. Which direction is O?

I looked that up, and couldn’t figure it out. But I lost my patience after a few minutes, to be honest.
