Just got back from Walmart. They normally open at 7 AM but from today to Apr 28 they are opening one hour early for people over 60 on Tuesdays only. I could not sleep tonight so I decided to go. Glad I did as I got a number of items we were concerned about. We have been sharing with Elena’s family, some are sick and there are small children, so it is impossible for them to get to the store with any chance. They had no TP or paper towels but we are in decent shape on those anyway. It was more food items and bleach we wanted and got most of the things on my list. Never thought I would get this much as things would be emptied by the time I got in. I got there at 5:30 but there was a line all along the front by the time they opened.

We’re actually good in Happy Larryville; so far, our Governor (Kemp, not Gaptooth McSoreLoser) has kept any fascist tendencies he may have from escaping his lie-hole in a public forum.
As such, we may cautiously go about our daily lives, although it appears that many businesses have decided -- for whatever reasons -- to close themselves.
Once again, I wish there were some reliable sources for Chinese Lung Rabies information but years of media and gummint prevarication make that rather difficult.
Fark the Democrat Party -- Media Complex -- much harder than usual -- for the shenanigans they pulled in D.C. yesterday.
Dallas County is imposing some big shutdown at end of day today but we are North of that. Gov. Abbott has kept things more voluntary, leaving local officials to do what is needed in their situations. Sounds reasonable but would be rulers will want top down control of course.

Well, that was a total bust! The parking lot was full and they had the line wrapped back on itself 6 or 7 times. Each part of the line was about 75 yards long, with more people coming into it each second. I turned around and drove home. I might give it another shot on Thursday (they’re only doing early hours on Tues. and Thurs.).

HEB has two staff outside the front doors directing people to the anti-bac dispenser *just* inside the door. Wal-Mart took the caps off the anti-bac wipes dispensers (so I guess you can make a costume?)
However, the couple of times I’ve been out, I’ve seen a little patience and courtesy make a comeback.

I could run it in auto all the time, but I don’t trust it to work properly and switch into Hi Performance mode when it should. That would be annoying.
