Criminy; I think Mayor Garcetti’s more of an asshoe than his Dad.
We got a few small HOA repairs done yesterday; Jim did them without prior authorization (thought it was stupid to let more interior damage occur) and then charged them each about $250 less than our usual minimum service charge.
That was well-received by some favored property managers; good PR move.
(I was tempted to invoice them for our standard amount and then provide a line-item “Pandemic Courtesy Discount” backing-out the difference.) 👿
It appears we’ll be awarded a $273K bid which we really didn’t think we’d get (as I know we weren’t the low bidder). Apparently, we were deemed the “best value” out of six contractors.
Allegedly, we should get a signed contract in the next couple of days. Not gonna hold my breath, but that would be a very welcome “win”. 🙂

Sven -- it looks like a full day of rain here, as well. It looks like the state may come close to a normal rain year (some areas below normal, some above).

Teh Older really wants to get out to his experimental plots to gather data for his study, but they’re in a state park and the trails are closed for a couple of days after any rain event. With all the rain we’ve had lately, there has been no way for him to get out.
Fatwa: don’t wanna Jinx it, so, tentative Congrats condolences on teh contract.
Sven: Be careful venturing deep into those filthy dirty cities.
Why: can’t I make myself do at least one short 5 -- 10 minute piano stream every day? Still have to force myself. Thing is, when I get started doing anything at all, I’m fine doing it. At least I have a job. I look forward to going now.
Dreds: are still around 33% done, although I did a few more of them. It’s not a bad stuck at home project, really. I have enough of them now, where I can attest that they are much lighter weight than the old ones I had before.
Harper: swears I play better when I have more hair. Doesn’t really make sense, though. Maybe it cuts out distractions? An ADD thing? I don’t know.
I was lamenting that TehSqueak doesn’t have a Dark Mode. So I thought: “Duh… There’s probably a Dark Mode addon. In Firefox, and Chrome, I got the most popular one called: “Dark Reader.” Its default settings work fine on our site.
Confirmed: It’s settings are fine for the autorefresh color also. It does a pretty smart recolor. Very well done. Plus it has some settings you can tweak if it doesn’t work as well with a particular website.
It’s about noon here. I feel like the thread pic is directed at me. Not deliberately maybe, but I have a hard time remembering such things. So I do a lot of hand washing at work.
We got two suggestions re cartoons. Metalocalypse and Mike Tyson Mysteries. While Metalocalypse made me laugh a few times -- it’s good heavy metal humor -- I think we’re both enjoying Mike Tyson Mysteries much more.
I mean it even has Norm MacDonald as a guy who was turned into a pigeon by his ex wife.

I still have my fire evac box in my truck has an N95 mask, so if I venture into that territory I should be OK.
