So Torba’s meeting software is set to release in beta in about a week. It is purported to be called “Gather” or “Gab Gather” subject to change.

Skype also has added meeting functionality. I think we could also use that if we want to have GerbilTV sooner.

Harper and I would be fine with anything all y’all would wanna do.

BTW: Harper says hi, she’s been a bit under the weather. Sleeping a lot, kinda dizzy, staying in bed but otherwise fine. She still putters around a bit doing this and that even so. That’s just her.

I set her up to have a virtual meeting with a neurologist in Phoenix. So that went well. The doctor liked the green screen thing I’d set up, he said it was cool, and totally unexpected and really made his day--and made an otherwise grim part of his job much more fun. That was the gist of it.

I didn’t understand entirely why he found it so delightful.

Let me know as per Skype or other software. There are many others some homegrown ones.

Maybe Jerrie Attrick will care to weigh in?

Happy “Venn Vill Corona-Craziness Be Over” Caturday, GN!

Hi, dv8!

Sorry to read that Harper’s been under teh weather.

I suspect the neurologist was tickled by the whimsy of you two using a green screen BG at all for your meeting. Most “normies” wouldn’t do something like that, so I can perhaps see why it had a disproportionate impact.

(Many years ago, Mom had a colonoscopy scheduled on Feb 14th, so she and Dad taped a large red foil heart reading “Be Mine” to her bum. The last thing she heard before the anesthetic kicked-in was the staff busting-up as they lifted the back of her gown. Because “normal” folks don’t do such things.)

Yup Fatwa! that’s the spirit of it!

Teh funny thing is that I think Harper wanted the background so the doctor wouldn’t have to see the messy office in the background.

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, and Fatwa!

dv8 -- I think Fatwa nailed it in re the green screen. Warm thoughts and prayers for Harper.

It’s going to be another warm one today. The plants are already watered but I need to kill a few (dozen) weeds and make a run to TJ’s (not to be confused with a run to TJ, which I would never do, even when things weren’t so carpy in Mexico).

Paddy,: Harper was mostly thinking of the doctor not seeing the messy room (my fault; I have projects in process)

But it came off as whimsy.

The director of my school uses a background when he’s working from his garage home.

Good Morning/Afternoon EveryGerbillyBody!

DV8 -- I suspect it’s what Fatwa said, someone making an extra effort for *them* no matter how small has to be a pick me up (or a giggle depending on placement).

“Venn Vill Corona-Craziness Be Over”

C’na, already!

I’ve read and proofread WAY too many free Kindle Unlimited books. I can keep myself busy with a million little things, but at some point I need to get out more.

The job alerts are still WAY down, but a couple of places I’ve applied to reached out. We’ll see what happens. If anything, I’d like the craziness over so I can go old-school: scan the store fronts in town for “Help Wanted” signs.

Meanwhile, I’m going to pull a Keith Moon and “fiddle about” this place. It may be time to hang my hammock back up.

Regarding Harper. The illness seems to just be a lingering cold/flu. Probably not Commie-19

Still as I mentioned we both had a weird flu a couple of months ago. The doctor thought it could be Commie 19 after asking us lots of questions about symptoms. He kinda wanted Harper to be tested if she still has a fever now, but she doesn’t. Just lingering aftereffects.

Man, it’s hot out -- close to 100. Went furniture shopping -- there’s one store around that’s decided they are essential, but you got to call ahead and then go inside through the loading dock door. But we’ve bought most of our furniture there and were happy to be accommodated. Mrs Sven got a new work desk and she’s been whining for years that she wants a “real” bed meaning one with a headboard. That’s on order.

They did mention that the local police come by a couple of days a week and shake the front door to see if they are open in violation of county orders.

Tis the season. I have to water our herbs once every other day at the least during the summer. In the winter, I just have to check them once a week.

They are all pushed out from under the roof, so they do get the benefit of any rain we might get.

We have this weird tree which appeared a couple of years ago in a fallow pot we had out front.

I have no idea what it is (see reply for pic:

I think you’d have to have some underlying issues. Because I think you can’t really get that much CO2 that way.
