I’ve been reading through the hoops that Gov. Noisome has directed counties must jump through before they can begin opening up:
1. No more than 1 case per 10,000 people for two weeks. My county had half that number, at max.
2. No Chinese Lung Rot associated deaths within the past two weeks. Given that hospitals get extra money for classifying deaths as Sino-Syphilis related, that ain’t ever gonna happen.
3. Counties must test at a minimum daily rate of 1.5 tests per 1,000 residents. For my county that would mean 4770 tests per day. As testing has ramped up over the last 9 days, we’ve reached one-third of that level.
4. Counties must have at least 15 contact tracers per 100,000 residents. I’m not sure where my county is going to get 477 contact tracers, but I assume that’s part of the plan -- erect difficult-to-impossible goals.
5. Have a “robust plan” for personal protective equipment supplies across the hospital workforce. Very subjective.
6. Support homeless residents with housing. The vast majority of homeless in my county don’t want to be housed.
7. The ability to handle future surges in COVID-19 cases. We never had a surge.
8. Skilled nursing facilities must have a more than 14 day supply of PPE, plus the means to order additional PPE from suppliers when running low. Repeal the executive order that forces skilled nursing facilities to accept Wuhan Flu patients and you won’t need this goal.
It’s pretty clear that the goal is to never re-open business in California.

Re: #4: I guess that makes “contact tracer” an essential job. I wonder what it pays?
Re: #6: To what extent? What % need to be off the streets?
It’s hard to argue with your conclusion.
Good morning, Fatwa, and Paddy! Happy ____day, GN!
