Probably when the rain season starts up again in 6 months cuz then roof repair will be deemed “essential.”
As best we understand it, residential roofing is currently deemed essential.
The issue we’re facing is that the condo Board opined that it would be best to wait until the folks working from home returned to the office (mostly due to the noise inherent in reroofing). Jim and I concurred with that.
It also would have been preferable to perform the work when kiddies were in school (for numerous safety reasons), but that option’s long gone.
Scheduling is their call. We can certainly do the work under lockdown, but it’d be significantly more difficult / stressful for all parties.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, and Fatwa!
My county met some of Gov. Noisome’s requirements for a partial re-opening and didn’t meet others, so no change for us. I doubt the monarch will give us dispensation, so no telling when we’ll be allowed to “get back to the new normal”.
Teh Younger may be able to go back to work soon, although he’s not sure what he’ll be doing. Getting out of the house will be a good thing.
Apparently, my Congressional District has flipped back to red with the election of Mike Garcia. Good on us for being such throuple haters that Katie Hill had to resign.
BTW, Tatum went back to the vet today for his follow up -- they say he’s doing OK, but needs to stay on his antibiotics. He’s been more house catty lately.
Went to the store today. Could have bought some Hibocleans but Harper is alergic. Walgreens tells me they have hand sanitizer coming tomorrow morning.
I have some but I might go buy one or however many they let me buy.
Basha’s Market had Dishwasher detergent, so I bought a couple.
Harper’s Sister sent us some home made masks that she’s been making for charity. We have two each. That’s nice. They’re pretty well made, but they don’t have the metal thingy in the nose area. Not that it matters really. A mask like this doesn’t really protect you all that much. It does protect others if I were sick and I happened to cough or sneeze.
I finally met someone who knows someone who is sick. But that was the first one. And it was a shop keeper. So she comes into contact with a lot of people.
People talking about who they actually know, keep telling me they don’t know anyone who knows anyone who is sick.
I wonder if New York City is winding down now because so many people there have been exposed to the virus already.
I don’t use hand sanitizer as such but I use liquid hand soap and I use a lot of 91% isopropyl alcohol, as does Elena and her family. It was hard to find for some time there but I recently was able to get it from Sam’s Club delivered. Two 32 oz bottles for about $4.00. I have gotten eight so far and four more are due tomorrow. I think we are well supplied, even after she gives a number of bottles to her family. I used to buy it by the gallon when I had my shop, I got it in the hardware stores as shellac thinner. We had several bottles around the house but it is important so I was a bit concerned. I use it for cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, when I check my blood sugar several times a day and when I take shots of insulin.
I see people talk about making hand sanitizer with it but I don’t understand the point of mixing things with it unless one has dry skin or such, and I have not had problems with it.
Hey Mac! I love your continued great work on the thread pics. I’m sorry we’re not going forward with the gerbil TV video conference. Perhaps, I’ll just get on conferencing software and let you all know. then maybe a few of you might pop in.
Not a big deal I guess, but Harper was kinda looking forward to it. I’ll use whatever software anyone else wants to use.
La_Tex:
This sounds like it might be one of your really good stories. I’m curious. I admit it.
Happy Whatevs, Wheelizens!
G’mornin’, dv8!

This seems very wrong:
White people need to be serviced, too. You can’t expect the government to handle that responsibility by itself.
Serviced? Fine…but sales is a hard no from me. 👿
Serviced? You mean like with a cloth?

That’s good news regarding teh younger, Paddy. Good luck to him.
Good afternoon on a slow posting day. I join Dv8 in urging Tex to share her story -- it’s our right to read it!

I hope the results don’t change after the

I’m glad he’s doing well. Thanks for the update.
