Protests at the local City Hall -- not far up the road from CasaK -- every day for the past several have been orderly. Elected officials and community members spew stupidly annoying platitudes, protesters have stupidly shitty signs but nobody’s torched any businesses, broken any windows, etc.
SackO’SugarK and I are keeping our noses to the digital grindstone and dealing as best we can with all of the roadblocks that COVID / civil unrest / general dumbfuckery toss in front of our attempts to do our respective jobs.
Sorta glad my news reading time is limited, as I’m enormously vexed with much of what’s going on. 👿
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
Apparently there was a local street-corner protest near my home, yesterday. From what I hear it was people with signs waving to those who drove by. I don’t get out much anymore, so who knew?
I’ve actually got an appointment to get my haircut today!!! It’s been way, way too long and my hair gets bushy. Not a good look.
I also have a contentious meeting today to develop the educational plan for a student. This has gone on for months now, with the parent ending previous meetings before we can finish, refusing to work with the team, demanding personnel changes, etc. I know some people thrive on conflict, but it’s just not my thing.
Sorry you have a carpy meeting today; I’m guessing that you can’t simply declare to the parent, “It puts the learning in its brain or else it get the hose again.” 👿
Not to be a dick, but I’d like to see these police officers kneeling with the protesters over George Floyd and whatever other sins have been committed by white people over the years, stand up afterwards and ask the protesters to now kneel with them over the cops shot and killed over the past week.
My dentist reopened this week and so I went down to have the work done that should have been done three months ago. Everything went fine, and I didn’t need a root canal. So… much cheaper.
I’m of the opinion that civil war along ideological lines rather than geographic boundaries is inevitable. What’s unclear is who will fire the first shot and that will depend on what happens in November.
Happy Wednesday from fairly quiet Larryville, GN!

You pick Downey? I may need that as my wallpaper!

I wish!
Just read that Barkie is having a virtual townhall this evening; I strongly suspect this will not help calm the nation.
He’ll probably be presenting Antifa’s demands.
JFC.
Good afternoon Fatwa, Paddy, and Tex! Hope all is well in your parts of the world.
Besides being pissed off at work and the general state of our country right now, I got nuthin’.
Not to be a dick, but I’d like to see these police officers kneeling with the protesters over George Floyd and whatever other sins have been committed by white people over the years, stand up afterwards and ask the protesters to now kneel with them over the cops shot and killed over the past week.
Good Afternoon Gerbils.

Good on you for getting in an d getting it done, Dv8. How is Miss Harper feeling?
She actually went with me and we went shopping afterward. Headache wise, she’s still adjusting meds. She seems to be a bit more peppy in some ways.
