Finished the Big Route in record time. Home before 5 am. Have to go to the Dentist and get a Permanent Crown--which finally came in. That’s at 10 am. Hope I can get a bit of sleep before I have to go.
The Crown MEGA did NOT fit. It’s having to go back to the lab. So I have the temp crown back in again. When they did the original impression, something in my engineering background went ding, and I thought: “This kind of impression doesn’t seem adequate to make a proper crown.” Then, I was like: “Nawwww… I’m sure they know what they are doing.” It seems I was right. These days, it’s safer to assume that everyone sucks at their job, and no one takes responsibility or pride in their work.
I did manage to drive there and back safely on 3 hours of sleep or whatever I got this morning, though, so … that’s good, at least.
On the positive side, he did fill a couple of small cavities he found last time. I’m afraid I have to admit I’ve been a bit lazy with my brushing and flossing these last years since my dad died. I’m kinda embarrassed about it. Luckily, I have pretty good genetics dental-wise.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, and Sven!
dv8 -- glad you’ve managed to shave so much time off the Big Route. Good luck with the dentist!
The first day of the leadership academy went well. We discussed a few variations of popular leadership style descriptors and how each author strives to put their spin on what is essentially the same thing, then moved on to practical applications and how “one size doesn’t fit all”. The presenter seemed comfortable in the online setting, which was good.
Thank you Paddy. The AC guys just left and the temp is dropping. They did a great job and charged me $680.00, I was expecting more, much more. Happy guy here for now.
I read that they are cancelling the Rose Parade next year. If they rename it to the Rose Protest for Racial Justice, they should be able to put it on without any Chinese Flu fears.
I was unaware of this museum. I would like to see the same infographic for black culture.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become members. The Museum opened to the public on September 24, 2016, as the 19th and newest museum of the Smithsonian Institution.
You can’t get the browser extension anymore though, There is something called “The Harambe Toolkit” in most browser extension stores.
Beware if you read these comments; gab/dissenter IS a free speech platform so there are likely to be a few things in a thread that are offensive to pretty much everybody.

How’d the dental work go, Dv8?

Well that’s too bad, but better to get it right than trying to force it in.
yeah, they said it would probably not be as long as last time (which was about a month.
Good morning, GN, and good luck at the dentist, Dv8.

One thing that’s really important in a meeting is to first establish “why we are all here.” (The answer is usually found on a Bullshit Bingo card)
I hope Mac and TeX have solved their A/C issues. This is not the time of year to be in Texas without a working cooling unit.
