Morning Gerbil Nation!!

Glad to see that Fatwa is back and getting some well deserved rest.

Yesterday, I had a nice dinner at a friends house, and then we did some bible study. I know, I know, that sounds really dorky. But… Well… you know.

We got on a video call to Harper so she could share in the lesson/study. We were going to do it via Zoom but then it seemed pretty easy to just do a video call via Verizon which is built into our phones.

Anyway, Dinner was very yummy, and I brought a bag of our friend’s homemade rolls back to Harper--which she loves.

See you later this morning/afternoon Gerbils!

Happy (?) Monday, GN!

Hi, dv8 (and Plaguie)!

Glad I don’t have to be on the hellsite jobsite this morning; hope all goes well for the whole JimCo crew this week.

Lots to do; BBL.

Fatwa:

Do tell about the new home improvements!!?? (if you wanna)

We are very curious about the extent of the projects BrendaK and SiL undertook.

dv8 --

There was a lot of cosmetic interior stuff: drywall was nailed not screwed; drywall corner metal wasn’t done properly. That stuff was all fixed downstairs; nearly entire downstairs (save half bath) was Kilz’d, painted and much decluttered -- especially kitchen. (Now it’s my turn to declutter downstairs…)

Kitchen counters were recaulked and we now haz a sort of backsplash which is a real improvement.

Also some new curtains and inexpensive art in LR. (Brenda and I have very different tastes in decor but she managed to hit a good “sweet spot” on the paint color, curtains and art.)

Drywall surrounds for shower and tub in MBR upstairs were also done improperly by builder and were corrected.

Still a lot more stuff to do do complete downstairs (LR and kitchen flooring and finish removal of “acoustical spray” from ceilings in LR and kitchen), but Brenda and SiL made a helluva good start.

We also had to have our water line from the street to the house rerouted due to front yard subsidence caused by (presumably) buried construction debris. Gonna get some quotes for fill dirt, yard flattening with a ‘dozer -- preferably not a murderous one -- and we’ll either plant new grass or lay some sod.

Those are the “broad strokes”. 😉

Oh…also having the house pressure washed this afternoon. (Glad for the extra $$$ in the pipeline from L.A. so we can pay cash for everything.) 😉

Parishoner: That was a nice sermon, Father, and I agree virus safety is important. But I still don’t understand how talking to the lady next door without a mask violates the Ten Commandments.

Preacher: Thou shalt not Covid thy neighbor’s wife.

Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, and Fatwa!

dv8 -- I’m glad that you were able to enjoy an evening out with friends. That really is a goodness. I’m also glad that Harper was able to join you, at least virtually.

Fatwa -- that’s quite the project list! When will the cabbage rose wallpaper be going up?

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Hi, Paddy!

Hush about the wallpaper, plztks!

I invented a Burka Gun/Muumuu Bazooka for people like this. I probably would be hailed as a hero if I went on a Muumuu shooting spree in WalMart.

I’m not crazy about my own reflection either but I’m not tone deaf about it. I just look in the mirror, shake my head, and say “Thank God for clothes.”

It was fun. I’ve been going stir crazy in the house. I also don’t know why I’m not streaming… or doing any music streams… But I usually do better when I do that. It’s more than just filling time, I think it’s connecting with people that makes it a force for sanity.
