That is one nasty looking cat. Not surprising though as it is a cat.

Happy Scary Cat Wednesday, GN!

Sven --

Hope you guys got the schmutz out of your water lines. (Seems so typical of municipal workers that after nine hours, they only achieved a temporary fix.)

Finally heard back yesterday from the Board President of the place which still owes JimCo nearly $43K. Seems that he dragged his ass doing a final “walkthrough” to see if there were any punch list items. (Mind you, we finished the job on 04/07.)

Perhaps I’m paranoid, but something still feels hinky; hope I’m wrong.

Also found out that two of the four homeowners who had their improperly installed A/C refrigerant lines punctured have made outrageous $$$ claims against our liability carrier; still waiting to hear about the other two.

We have abundant photo evidence of other units with the same construction defect at this place. But the CA legal system hates contractors (as we know from experience), so I expect JimCo’s gonna get sodomized again via insurance claims, if not a lawsuit.

As of right now, I wish we’d never been awarded the job. (And it’s probably just as well I live at the other end of the country, else I’d be tempted to break every fucking window in at least one of the affected owner’s units; he’s the one whom even our kindly foreman referred to as, “a piece of shit”.)

Ah, well…maybe it’ll all work out okay. But I ain’t holding my breath.

California. Land of lawyers, lawsuits, and bullshit. I hope it all works out for Jim and company.

Watching video from a typical night in Portland. On the plus side, it’s good to see that women, after years and years of systemic sexism and oppression, have achieved true equality and more as they behave even worse than the men. All of us were taught, as men, that you never lay a hand on a woman even if they strike the first blow. Watching these women scream, threaten, and physically assault others, I think that rule is out the window.

Good morning, Fatwa. Yeah, got all the air out of the lines and unclogged the one, so everything is back to normal. For now. Our neighborhood is always an afterthought as far as community services go, but they did a good job yesterday.

Another interesting thing happened yesterday. A fire department inspector stopped by asking about one of our neighbors as he was trying to inspect her property but the gates were locked and he couldn’t get to the front door -- looked like no one was home. I offered to call her and asked him if our property was OK and he said as far as he knew it was; he was following up on previous notices of noncompliance. We got to talking and he said he was from another fire station and got assigned to our area for a couple of weeks for inspections.

I mentioned that the city park behind our property hasn’t cleared the brush or dead tress in years and we walked to the backyard to look at it. He was shocked, like WTF? Went up and down the hillside taking pictures and videos and said he’d send it up the chain. Don’t know if anything will happen, but maybe.

Portland. What a shithole.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Hi, Sven!

Glad your water’s back to “normal” and hope they get a permanent fix installed soonest. Also that the brush in the park behind you gets some (reasonably) prompt attention.

All of us were taught, as men, that you never lay a hand on a woman even if they strike the first blow. Watching these women scream, threaten, and physically assault others, I think that rule is out the window.

Due to an incident many years ago, I abandoned that rule. A woman who assaults me gets ONE loud, unequivocal verbal warning and then gets treated with the “equality” they’ve been yammering about since I was a kid.

Thus far, the verbal warning has sufficed.

I’m waiting for SHTF-time in Portland when aggrieved, honest citizens push back…hard.

The video I posted earlier is a full 30 minutes documenting what happened in Portland the other night ending in the driver being kicked in the head. My takeaways, beyond the obvious that all of these assholes ought to be at least beaten bloody, is that it’s less a BLM thing and more of a gang thing although clearly conducted by people with BLM/antifa associations.

From what I can tell, the driver doesn’t come to the aid of the tranny as has been reported. It seems he just had the misfortune to park his truck at the wrong place at the wrong time. It also appears that the chubby white girl is his girlfriend, but that he leaves her behind when he drives off although that’s bit unclear. How he ended up crashing his truck is unknown -- I think he might have been more than a little drunk like he was returning from a club.

These assholes are role playing cops -- their streets, their rules. And speaking of cops, where were they? They’ve clearly surrendered the streets to the mob -- a half hour in a downtown city and not one patrol car comes by? I’m curious if anyone made a 911 call.

Happy unhappy kitteh Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!

Sven -- glad your water is back on and relatively air-free. I hope your neighbor is all right and that the city takes care of that dry brush behind your place.

I saw a video the other day -- can’t remember if it was Portland or Seattle -- where antifa/BLM had their usual shield wall set up. This time, instead of firing tear gas and pepper balls, about a half-dozen officers charged the line and crashed full-speed into it, breaking it apart and taking down several protesters. The rest of the line scattered in an unorganized retreat. Why aren’t we seeing more of this type of successful tactic being used? It reminds me of the ROE developed by politicians and bureaucrats to hamstring the military.
